i cant speak to other cars, but the market for carb 308's is VERY strong. so is the market for 2wd Diablos....
Yes, I just visited their website and the online form doesn't work in Chrome or IE. Maybe their phone works - might call them tomorrow.
The site has a few glitches. If you try to apply for an online quote through one link it throws an error message. If you try another way it connects.
I don't know why people are saying prices for a 308 are becoming out of reach? Why the F@&$ do people call the car a 3x8?!?!?!?! Is it hard to put a zero or a two???? Back to the original question. Back in 1977 my GTB was sold for 55,000 Canadian. The average car was sold for 4000cdn. If you think about it in today's dollers, (somebody feel free to factor in inflation for me) But for the car to have appreciated in value it would have to sell for more than the cost of what it sold for in 77. What does a 458 sell for, over 300,000? So until a 308 from 77 consistently sells for over 300,000, it's still a bargain. Use that same principal for what ever year 308/328. That is just MHO and two cents worth.
With. Compound interest, money doubles every 12 years had you invested that. So in 1987 = $110,000; 97 = $220,000; 2007 = $440,000; and in 2015 $790,000. Allowing for vehicle expenses such as insurance, maintenance, you would need $1 million to break even. 99.9999% of vehicles, even if they appreciate in value, ie dino 246, are still money losers financially speaking
Yes, but I'm sure we both agree on this: What the use is money if you don't spend it on something you like? (Like a vintage Ferrari ). If you get back any of your money after having this much fun, that is just an extra bonus.
I agree with you totally. I wAs just commenting on cars being investments. Even a house is a money loser and cheaper to rent. We all leave the world the same way we arrive - with nothing, so enjoy while you can.
this ! and always remember: your last shirt will not have any pockets and there is no sense in beeing the richest guy on the graveyard
Money does not double every 12 years unless you are getting a return of at least 6%. With inflation running at under 2% and deposit rates at zero, 6% is a long way off. At the current deposit rate paid by large US banks (0.03%) your money will double in 2,400 years. So go buy another Ferrari. It's probably a better bet.
Money doubling every 12 years is a sh$& investment. When I was younger it was the standard of every 8 years. Just an FYI, but many stocks have tripled in the last 6 years and Ferraris, but cars generally are not very good investments. Lots of fun, but better ways to invest IMO.
That's certainly not the case here in the UK as money on deposit at the bank is paying virtually no interest whereas house prices have doubled in the last 10 years so I'm glad I didn't rent!!!!!! And they will most likely double again over the next decade or so.

Now this is verging on the ridiculous...160.000 euros asked! Ferrari 328 GTS d'occasion, Essence, ? 160 000,- à Bologna Rgds
Looks like DK have imported 2 cars into the UK for sale (from where?). The final 2 in the listings: Used Ferrari 328 cars for sale with PistonHeads
Andy, The '89 GTB is said to have come from Sweden in the add's text, this in 1996; it is confirmed by the small water outlets in front of the headlights pods, peculiar to this market, and the air exit slot for the hot air from the cat in the rear bumper. Oh, and for the "trainspotters", that GTB is # 81592, a May 1989-produced car. Rgds
The 328 GTB market in the US is tough. If you want a 328 GTB and you find one for sale you pretty much have to pay up because there are typically no more than one, maybe two on the market at any given time. And I would say no more than 5-7 come up for sale or auction in a typical year. -F
I don't currently have a horse in the 328 GTB race (my own 89 is not for sale), but Furman is right. Anyone could have bought the argento/red 88 that I had for sale a couple of months ago. When these cars come up for sale, if you're looking for one, don't wait. I can say that 75912 is a really nice car and a wonderful driver. Again, I have no financial or other interest in the car, just helping out potential buyers. I have no idea how much the seller is asking for the car, but somehow I bet it is more than what I was asking.
