I see the 400i made it out again.. What sn is that?
The Lot Was FULL and I got there before nine. Several beautiful cars and lots of pleasant people. We have expanded into the back and side lots now. Just a friendly reminder if you come out please observe the parking guidelines that allow the commercial facilities to continue their business operations. Both Mark and Joel will usually answer questions. Now for the pictures! All those cars and not one of you can pump your own gas. Was that a Noble with the lid up? Not the black Ultima...the burgundy one....
When it is raining, we do not have to get wet to fuel our cars. Yes it was a Noble. There were two Noble's today and I think once we had three. I do not recall having not seen either the Torino Convertible and the Green 456 before at Cars and Coffee. Both got a couple extra pictures for that reason.
Good showing today. A handful of Ferraris, a 12C, oodles of GT3s, and an awesome FRS rally car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, you're wrong. On my ranch I have my own 500 gallon, above-ground fuel tanks for diesel and ethanol-free super unleaded. As long as I stay 1/2-a-tank close to home, I have the pleasure of pumping my own gas. Above-ground farm fuel tanks are practically unregulated, yet there's a loud lobby that won't let us touch a filling station hose. Oregon fuel laws are outrageously stupid.
Would love to have been there, but left PDX at 7:00 for Timberline so my daughter could snowboard. Sitting in the lodge. Anyone got pics to post so I can see what I missed?
I didn't much care to watch the Tigard cop cruising through and lurking in his SUV. Word's out, I guess. Gotta watch those burnouts now when exiting, guys.
I think there is a Tigard cop who is a regular attendee, if I remember correctly, and an enthusiast. Maybe even a few of them. I think the burnouts are a bad idea, anyway.
There was nothing so special that I felt the need to take pictures of, or that I didn't have pictures of already, it was just the overall size of the event that was impressive. Of course, I haven't been in a while, so maybe this is just normal now. There was a really nice green 456GT that I haven't seen before. And I hadn't seen a BMW i8 in person, so that was sort of neat, even if I'm not all that impressed by the car itself. Oh, and the turbine motorcycle.
This 456 has a manual transmission. The GT40 is a replica Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a 456GT, most likely a 95 (I didn't look at the VIN, sorry Carbon). All 95 456GTs are manual. As a side note, there are no 96 456GTs. In 1997, they came out with the 456GTa, which had an automatic. Most (but not all) 1997 456GTs are automatic, and then in 1998 they came out with the 456M.
Oh, it looks great, no doubt about it. Although personally I thought the interior looked like something out of a 6-series, and didn't live up to the exterior, but still pretty nice. Otherwise, I think gasoline/electric hybrids are sort of a half-assed solution, generally. A 3 cylinder gas engine combined with an electric motor just doesn't do it for me.
You're welcome. The I8 looks like it was derived from an M6 coupe with body kits (nothing wrong with that) and scissor/gullwing doors. Looks futuristic. Drew lots of attention. Thanks for the 456 info. Looking at your profile, I realized the blue 612 there maybe yours. I was surprised and impressed (bec I didn't know) 612s are equipped with manettino.
I didn't notice the resemblance to a 6 series on the outside until I looked at your photos. You're right. Yes, that was my 612. OTO 612s (late 2008 and subsequent) have the manettino.
Someone mentioned burnouts, someone mentioned the Tigard police, and someone mentioned the great turnout of auto enthusiasts. First: The Tigard Police are our friends. They enjoy cars like you and I, and belong there. Second: Burnouts when leaving are not cool. The city street, especially THIS city street, is no place for showing-off how you can waste rubber. The individuals involved should be banned from the area indefinitely. They should also meet the Tigard Police with a citation. Third: What a great turnout of people who want to see an incredible variety of cars, share ideas, and dream some dreams! All of this will certainly go away if people abuse the great privilege we all share, and do burnouts and other stupid things. I am a huge fan of street-legal race cars. I have been known to show up at C & C with an Ultima GTR, a Cobra Daytona Coupe, and a Lola Indycar. However, I realize that if we do not ALL act responsibly, we will loose the privilege of being there. Just a reminder, to myself and to others. Thanks, David
