Just purchased a 1977 308 GTB steel body, VIN #22641. The exterior is azurro blue with boxer trim. The interior is cream seats with blue carpet, black dash, cream door panels and black piping in the seats. I am curious if this is a rare color combination? From what I can find, the azurro blue is not very common (especially with the boxer trim) and I have not seen another interior like this on any other cars. When looking at the 308 GTB registry, in terms of 1976-1980, this car could be one of one. Any insight or knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Congrats! one of the best combos for a 308... seats may not be original though because I do not think they did piping at that time. But what the hell, if they look good...
    Pictures pictures pictures please!

Yes I purchased one of big tex cars. The non repainted blue one. Great bones. I posted some cleaning pictures last week.

On vacation and my son was looking through some sites and he realized that this car maybe a one of one for 77 or even for any GTB for that matter or GTS. Boxer trim was only on maybe
10 cars in 77. Then blue as well could make this a special find.

Will post some more pictures next week.

'77 GTS is rare or non-existent in any color. I've never seen or found one.

106 GTS were build from September to December 1977; most went to the USA.

Thank you VEEP. The pictures help a lot. That car was in excellent condition. Hopefully I can get mine back to that level of excellence.

So it seeming more rare than thought. Steel body.

What I meant by GTS was even after 77 there is not many boxer trim cars (GTS GTSI GTB GTBI) even less of them if any were blue.

She needs work but it's coming along.

Thank you again. Will post more pictures next week when I get back. Brakes are next week and will try and get her started with some fresh fuel and a new battery.

They were probably model year 1978, with catalytic converters and revised cams (?)

    Wade,
Wow that is a beautiful interior. Love that center console in cream. The interior of mine is identical to the car posted by VEEP. Please take a look! Thank you for sharing the picture.

Beautiful, indeed. I have to say that I think it's blue piping, and the carpets are blue, as well. There's definitely a visible color difference between them and the (obviously) black dash and steering wheel. If you look in the very bottom-right corner of the photo, there's a little section of piping visible - that definitely looks blue to my eyes.

I'm leaning towards blue now that you mention it. I can only imagine how spectacular it looks in person.

Daniel, LMAO on that post, wish I could have been there. :)

Thanks to Daniel's amazing help and talent, the 308GTB is off to the shop today, engine service, new tires, brakes, clutch and who knows how much else will be needed. Better get back to work to pay for it all, LOL.

Have some new pictures, will post tonight. Long way from done, but hope to be on the road by May.

Hope to call Ferrari soon and find out the whole story.

    It's one of my cars....

It IS rare, except I "spotted" an identical car in the Woodlands TX yesterday!!

I believe there was a 1978 308GTS recently for sale at one of our Houston exotic dealers, that might have been it!!

    Alan,
Good to hear from you, I was on vacation. Was going to send you a picture of it on the trailer to the mechanic shop to get the service other items completed. My son was with me in Costa Rica and still hasn't see the car yet. So he is the one that posted the first post, after digging around on colors. I think it still maybe a 1 of 1 for 77, as there were so few Boxer paint cars, and blue cars for that matter.

So far blue Boxer look cars I know of 3, a 76 vitro mine and now the 78. Maybe it's a one a year type color set up. Waiting for Ferrari to get back to me, hopefully next week.

Hope all is well Alan, will call you soon.

    Well an update on 22641.

Still in the shop. Almost done. Service has been 11 months of the mechanic working on it off and on when I mainly wanted him on it.

Upgrading the AC and had to put in new fuel tanks with I was able to find. One off the FChat and one from Ferr Parts. The old tanks I have and will try and clean them out lots of rust from the sending unit and the bottom fuel filter screen.

Then will start on stripping the car down for paint. Longer road than I thought. I need to get it done by June so we will see how it goes. Didn't think it would take this long at the mechanics. But like Daniel says its a Ferrari.

Will get some pictures up this week from my drive awhile back before the rust in the tanks was discovered.
