Robert I agree with you. I have purchased more than 100 cars via internet photos and whilst I have not seen a comprehensive file of photos on this Jarama it looks like a decent example for 44 year old car. I sometimes think that Olivier and his buddy DWR 46 will say anything simply to portray themselves as experts I think these guys think they are the Gurus of Lamborghini but their foolish antics in rejecting the R&T road test comparisons between the PRODUCTION Jarama - v- the PRODUCTION DAYTONA - undermined their integrity in my opinion! I certainly wont be in a hurry to buy Olivier's book when its published. I am more interested in FACTS than ASSUMPTIONS, HEAR SAY or PURE FICTION!!! As I stated previously I have not conducted an independent test on both cars - my post was based wholly and simply on my observation of the R&T Road tests for the PRODUCTION versions of both cars. MR DWR 46 without submitting any evidence other than his own opinion sought to rebut the comparison based on the R&T Tests - stating that there is NO COMPARISON alleging the DAYTONA is superior. He claims he owns both a Jarama and a Daytona. Even in the absence of the R&T road Tests a physical observation of the brakes fitted to both cars will reveal the Jarama has larger units - so its no surprise the R& T Tests show the JARAMA out class the Daytona as far as brakes are concerned. Olivier the obvious HERO that he is - jumped in support of his friend DWR 46. We now see DWR 46 jumping in to support Olivier. This guys would make a GREAT TAG TEAM let me tell you - but I guess many of you already know that! When I posted the Jarama V Daytona comparison many of you agreed with me and sent me private messages telling me that you thought Olivier could be stubborn at times - but none of you were prepared to post you opinions on this forum for fear of hurting his feelings These guys seem to have been the benefactors of a silver spoon from birth. Unlike many of us I suspect that both DWR and Olivier may have never really had to exercise their mind to create the wealth required to afford a Ferrari or Lamborghini and in my opinion their deficiency is clearly illustrated in their behaviour and conduct on this board. I just read - Taurean Bull's Farewell post when I spotted a post by DWR46 referring to me as a LUNATIC for simply posting my observations of the R&T Road tests in support of the JARAMA - Well I'm back to speak my mind! Lets have some real fun now!!!!
I prefer to smile to your childish behavior, you are attacking & trying to offense directly person's integrity probably based your own frustration. Intelligent people will know how to discern your comments, I've no fear about that ! BTW, I haven't see you at Artcurial stand, did you inspect the Lamborghini yourself ?
Olivier, the person you should be attacking for their childish antics is DWR46 for referring to me as a Lunatic without justification. My post regarding the PRODUCTION version of the Jarama- v- Daytona was based on an observation of the R&T Road Tests and the DECEPTIVE comparison TABLE included in the Jarama Test which relied on the test results of the Bill Harrah HOT ROD Daytona - unfairly rendering the Jarama the underdog. The comparison table used in the JARAMA road test article failed to disclose the DAYTONA road test results were derived from the 402 HP HOT ROD version. I have been silent for sometime on this forum to allow both you and DWR 46 to fondle your supporters and revel in your own self orchestrated opinion of yourselves. Should you choose to attack me without due justification I will defend my reputation on this board and unlike Taurean Bull who has chosen to retreat - I instead will be bombarding the forum to reveal your deficiencies for the public at large to cast their own judgment on who you really are. I will just make easier for them to decide - that's all! I am a fan of various marques not least Lamborghini but over the years I have become sickened by self appointed marque experts who are more interested in being associated with the prestige of the brand rather than the cars themselves.
Seriously, you have a great collection but there is no place for this sh#t. Maybe do yourself a favour and go out and buy a Daytona and run it side by side with your Jarama, use a go pro and let us all see how that turns out!! I have said before that no matter what the good intentions you cannot rely upon anything a journo writes, particularly in the 70's, it is all biased in some degree whether by deadline or intention - you believe that bias was against the Jarama where most believe that the Daytona would just blow it out of the park. Abuse gets you no where. John
Autoart and his brother own a couple of nice Jarama's. I think they would have something positive to bring to the table if they wanted and I think most would appreciate that over a 40 year old issue of R & T (which if I go hunting in the shed I have). I admit that when they were new I didn't really like the car - I thought they were awkwardly proportioned and a cheap effort to expand the range. I reckon they would have had to drag Ferruccio kicking and screaming out of his Islero and into the Jarama. However, and I reckon I'm not on my own, in recent years I have come to love them - I think the styling was definitely before their time. John

while the jarama is gone, the diablo is not - maybe this summer we meet up, would look forward to it . love to see your stable too. bill
Great Photos - Philippe The Jarama's razor edge design and flared fenders is far more futuristic than the Daytona - then and now! The prototype looks spectacular in white - possibly one of the best colour choices for this model Anyone care to disagree - with me?
I agree in white it is gorgeous. I never understood why at its presentation at Geneva it didn't get a frank success... My father saw it there for the 1st time and then it was one day in his garage... The mix of angular curves and sharp lines was also "avantgarde", sure the journalists's reports have a real impact on Public. They were used to spectacular design that for me they missed the "goal" with Jarama ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
