Highway Star + Ferrari = Jail. Deep Purple Highway Star is just asking for trouble. Radar Love and anything from Steppenwolf follow close behind.
+1 for Deep Purple 'Highway Star'. Also 'Fireball' 'Turn It On' by Franz Ferdinand 'Shoot to Thrill' and most other AC/DC I'd forgotten about Radar Love. I remember when it was first released!! Tender age of 11 and just getting into music. Feel a download is required. I reckon we should be able to produce the definitive playlist for an awesome drive experience in the next few days
Springsteen BTR +1 Springsteen Darlington County. " we drove 800 miles without seein a cop, we got rock n roll music blasting out the T top... Bob Seger Hollywood Nights / Rock n Roll never forgets/ Night Moves Joan Jett I hate myself for lovin you Van Halen Why can't this be love? GNR Sweet Child of mine Too too many to pick one. GREAT thread!
Johnny Rotten and Afrika Bambataa. You win at life mi amigo havent heard that song since high school.
That's a musical odd couple. Well, maybe not, in retrospect, both pioneers musically, both active for social justice. Very cool. Thank you for posting....T
LOL! Seeing as Dave's doing the cavallino count why not expand this to songs with horses too? Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones and All the Wild Horses by Ray LaMontagne to start you off..... any others?
Suggested by Lime1... Lots of great songs, some are new to me, many I had forgotten about or not heard in years. I'm keeping an open mind, but still, for me, so far, Radar Love is the ultimate for DRIVING driving...
Since this is in the California forum I thought this was called for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kcmwXUdDCE
Surprised Red B isn't all over this thread already-great song and it's not even the best (by far) on even the album it's on
Well done. Perfect blend of harmonies, lyrics and imagery - love that song. RIP Papa John, RIP Mama Cass, RIP Denny....T
Asked wife this very question this morning, that's exactly the song she picked. So, Radar Love it is!! T
It's good, but it has pauses in the drive of the music. "Born to be Wild" just keeps going from the very first note and the lyrics are perfect. Now there are quite a few Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who songs which get me in trouble, but #1 is Steppenwolf IMHO. Why else was it used in "Easy Rider".
