Made a two hundred Mike round trip. 15 MPG despite a half hour stuck in traffic. A new record.
Finished replacing most of the fuel and vapor lines yesterday. Still have one to go. Fixed the heat. Someone had removed the ductwork in the front and duct taped over it. Probably because black stuff was blowing in the vents. Heatbox filters were destroyed, so they got cleaned out and replaced with new screens. Interior lights fixed thanks to repaired wiring harness and new relay in passenger footwell. Also, headlight pops up thanks to new C clip. Been a busy couple weeks. Zippered trunk liner came yesterday, now just waiting for gasket. Should have that done this week.
Well I have tried many leather care products in the past on previous Porsches and Jaguars. However my new (old) 1988 328 GTS with 17,000 miles required the best product I could find. For the first time I tried the Connolly Leather Care kit. It comes with a leather cleaner concentrate (mix with warm water), applicator, several microfiber towels and the famous Connolly Hide Care. It used to be called Connolly Hide Food but the FDA put a stop to that. I guess for fear of someone eating it like we used to eat the white glue in grammar school. Anyway my seats weren't really dirty but the cleaner did prepare them for the food. Wow! Easy to apply, no staining whatsoever, a wonderful aroma (not strong) and after 24 hours of soaking in, the seats are supple and soft to the touch. I'm very pleased. Now on to buy new struts for my engine lid.
After arriving from the US she has been dropped off today for her first UK check and MOT test, fingers crossed for a pass Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bled the brakes which finishes off my annual set of fluid changes. This is a very exciting project. Very interested. Hope you guys figure it out. (Oddly, my pressure sender started behaving itself a few weeks ago after being clobbered a few times while replacing my oil cooler hoses).
Circuit and software are through initial design and testing. We've ordered our first run of PCBs for prototypes.
I got the Connolly Hide Care Kit from autogeek.net $59.99. Or you cold buy the components separately.

I had just completed getting the car ready for the spring and considering selling my gt4 to finance a new Alfa 4C but my wife has had a conniption fit about us keeping the car... so I guess we will be going somewhere in it as soon as the snow melts. (probably not to the Alfa dealer...)
Started taking rear A arms and sway bar off. Cleaned, wirebrushed and painted. Waiting for suspension bushings to come, then I can move on to the front.
Noticed the latch on the door sticker wasn't clicking nicely, so today took them off and noticed both worn, so I welded and ground flat to original dimensions and now door clicks nicely.
Installed freshly remolded steering column levers. Thanks Verell! Then I went for a drive. Feels like spring over here, and the cherry trees have just begun to bloom.
In an originality hype attack, I replaced my QV mirrors on my carb car with the original Vitaloni Californian. Now I see signifcantly less what's behind my car, but they are much prettier. Best Regards from Germany Martin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not today, but I photoshopped the US rear bumper in, before and after, I still have the US rear in it's original position on the car, just wanted to see how much better it looks tucked in. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, but what was good enough for Niki Lauda in 1975 on his 312 T to win the F1 championship,is surely good enough for us Best Regards Martin
Pulled my sparkplugs and waiting to get the new ones in the mail, then when I put them in its time for an oil change!
i just changed out my steering wheel for a slightly smaller Momo suede wheel.... my other one just got too worn ... i still have the orignal wheel - mounted in a shadow box
Finally reassembled everything in engine bay and fired up for first time after a major and a bunch of other stuff with no drama thankfully. And now if I can make the snow and ice go away Image Unavailable, Please Login . The plenum and cam cover powder coat turned out great.
