Much like when the 458 came out, I am not an immediate fan of this 488 design.
Rims on the silver car are poor. On the red one, I think those are Audi-style?
Rear lights have that black plastic material sculpting inwards, it looks cheap, in photos.
    Side air intakes look dorky.
Was hoping interior would be more bespoke and special.
I like the rear exhausts and front end.

Overall, I like it. Those black plastic vents at the rear and the splitters in the big air intakes in Carbon option would be very nice, IMO

Also, I just wish they changed the mirrors and make the headlights a bit smaller and maybe different

I wouldn't worry about that cheap looking black plastic by the rear lights. I'm sure Ferrari will have a carbon fiber option for you for a "reasonable" price (sarcasm)

I've seen the car quite a bit, and I still don't like it. There just doesn't seem to be much coherence in the design.

agreed ! If they put the mirrors back in the apex of the A pillar and the doors it would look amazing. Metallic Grey far better than Rosso

Is it just me or does the grey show the lines of the car much better in photos?

Thats right. You guys have to consider that these cars are bone dry on options. The 458 without any options is not a must have either. Cf, colour and race seats transform the car and will make it that what we will see as acceptable. The rear plastic will look way better if replaced with a solid cf look. just sayin...

One the one hand: The new R8 is a complete disaster. Hence, it could have been much worse. One the other hand: I think that much of the 458's success has to be attributed to its design (yes, there are different opinions, but there seems to be a broad basis of people who considered the 458 as a masterpiece) which set the 458 apart from its competition (MP4-12c; Huracan) which are just good looking cars; as opposed to stunning looking cars. The comment above: There is no coherence in the design sums it up for me.

In agreement with the above sentiments......gray looks better than the red, yawn, the same cars from the private unveiling, wheels aren't that original (dare I say the 20's look small on the car?), side vents are atrocious (hoping dark colors hide it) and what is with the door handle?!
