Please write out the calculation you think doesn't work longhand, otherwise it's difficult to see where you think there's an issue, most of your chart figures look wrong, including tyre max load. You're essentially trying to prove the P1 can't do what it's already done, go! Ignoring load transfer control devices. Trofeo R - 235 1476lb, 305 1874lb F+R Tyre Max Load = 3350lb = 1521kg Vehicle Mass with driver and 5% gas = 1380 + 5 + 75 = 1460kg Track = 1.658m F+R Mass + Downforce (kg)/2 = (1460/2) + 600/2 = 730kg + 300 = 1030kg 1521 - 1030 = 491kg Max Lateral Mass Transfer = 491kg = Mass * (Hcog*2)/Track Hcog = (491/1460)*(1.658/2) = 0.278m Now since P1 Hcog is 4 inches lower than 918's, this is perfectly fine. The real BS is Porsche kidding everyone that there car is fast with 2 minute stints.
True. The Porsche is a very fast car, for a lap or so. To be fair they didn't kid anyone, they talked about the 'HL' mode a lot in their press releases and media. Its funny how a lot of the Porsche pyjama squad don't understand this feature.
Agreed, it's really just the fact that it leads to magazine time trials creating a false impression of its track speed relative to other vehicles. Evo never even mentioned this and even made out like it was the P1 that would suffer battery charge issues.
Race mode only drops the car less than 2 inches. At best the P1 can only match the location of the 918's Cg which is below the wheels' centreline. And that's with a bigger mass sitting lower in the chassis. McLaren never release where the Cg location is for the P1 in the first place, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it is no where close to where it is on the 918 with every single heavy stuff on the P1 sitting higher than the 918, engine sits higher, extra turbos and plumbing, batteries, etc.
The Porsche will not put down max power for all of the 20km, this is clearly demonstrated by the data from Laguna
No, it's simply an absurd attempt to deride the machine that 'beat' ye faithful's supposedly invincible track monster. At first it was this "No way in hell 918 will be quicker on race track", but after over a year of defeats ye faithful now resort to "918 is a one lap wonder" "918's tires are better" "Randy had a lot more experience in the 918" yada yada yada, and after the LS defeat, this barrage of telemetry to explain things away. Smoke. Very cloudy.
the REAL BS is your 100 posts. The REAL BS is your being so upset by P1 being shaded. You continue to try and marginalize and deride the machine that spanked your beloved at yet another track...where 918 was never ever advertised to be track destroyer. Your defense of this Mac product is unbelievable, sheer lunacy. At first the 'conversation' was about which car is quicker, now that that is established, ye faithful move goal posts again this time "which is quicker over multiple laps". Hmm...the car is pretty fast over a 7 minute stint too. It's pretty fast on all sorts of race tracks in various modes. The real BS is Mac kidding everyone that RACE mode would mean game over for the competition. Hahahaa. The Real BS is a cultist like yourself turning this thread into your own lab of BS. Next:
Anybody that ignores the on track ability of a Porsche is a complete and utter fool. As I have said many times, if you were going to purchase a brand new race car, a Porsche "something" has to be up the top of your list. I'll unsubscribe now and let some of you wank on ... Pete
That is very impressive but they will never allow anyone to test their claims. Remember all those years of we will break ring record, we will post fastest speeds etc... To me Koensigsegg just continues to announce cars yet never delivers anything expect specs on paper.
Wonder what the "direct drive" means and why they say it's not actually an hybrid. Direct drive from electric engines and ice as generator? Or no drive at all from the electric motor but just intervention on the gearbox? I hope for the first option.
That Regera looks awesome. Amazing design, super light, massive power. Assuming those figures are correct, this thing is by far more interesting than the 918/LF/P1. Unfortunately it will probably cost 2x as much. Has CF wheels too. https://scontent-lax.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xfa1/t51.2885-15/11018534_1396394630674138_572290738_n.jpg
One inch smaller wheels, lower weight allows lower pressure in tyres, race mode drops whole chassis by 2 inches. But of course, the best it can hope to do is match the 918.....
No gearbox. I said it that this could have been the next step in hybrid integration some 200 pages ago Koenigsegg Will Sell You A Car Without A Transmission For $1.9 Million It's not a looker though
Well looks like we can hang up this comparison thread as koeny has just beaten them all. Congratulations koenigsegg.
A car that's faster for one lap only isn't faster period. What next? Claim a dragster is faster than an F1 car because it's quicker off the start finish line? Quit this 'yet another track' and 'spanked bull'****. It won by 0.8s on a 90s lap (0.9%). The P1 had the faster time by 1.3s on a 72s lap (1.8%) at Anglesey. 918 had two cracks at Laguna Seca, P1 had two cracks at Anglesey Coastal, second time with equivalent tyres and it won by 1.3s on first hot lap, even with the tyres over-inflated. P1 sustained speed against 918 single lap speed and it's still winning by 0.5s overall... even on slow, short tracks, which it wasn't primarily designed for. 918 never advertised... blah... blag... bull****... blah. Advertised in German, you don't even know what they said. All the videos with Steve Sutcliffe in 918 driving after Walter Rohrl in a Turbo S. Chris Harris's first visit to see Rohrl on the 'ring. No it was never advertised as a track car was it. Now turns out it's only good for 2 minutes at a competitive pace on slow short tracks. Pathetic.
