Mmm... The engine sound is suspiciously downplayed in this video. Perhaps it really doesn't sound as good as its predecessors...

Interesting observation as that's exactly what I would say of the 458's nose. I'm not sure I can think of a single picture where I like the treatment at the front of the 458, but in the flesh depth and dimension come into play at it looks fantastic.

What's going on with the aero elements on the back of the car? It appears that the rear brake light piece is separate from the engine lid and I'm wondering if it is a movable aero device similar to LaFerrari?

I think you've said it exactly right. The "whiskers" in particular look silly in most pictures, but don't look bad at all in real life, particularly in CF. As for the 488's side vents, I'll wait to see the car in person, but I'm not all that optimistic that I'll like what I see. Fred

I wouldn't feel sorry for those new R8 owners as they will have a NA V10 and not turbo.

New R8 is really fugly. What were Audi thinking? Even Huracan looks better. 488 is beautiful by comparison.

Couldn't agree more, the R8 is apparently a fantastic piece of engineering and brilliant to drive but they have gone out of their way to make it the ugly sister

People go on about the sound of a F40 but it wasn't really the cars best attribute, with the standard exhaust it doesn't, to my ears at least compare to a 458.

True, the F40 didn't have a very nice sound.

If Ferrari sold a Nissan Micra without any changes in style or performance, just the addition of the Ferrari badge, they could sell them at $200k easily.

Nothing more blind than a rich enough Ferrari enthusiast.

I was lucky enough to get to see the 488GTB at the Geneva motorshow today, sat in both cars and was very very impressed. I really love this car and find it nicer looking than the 458. Only worry is the engine sound which won't be as good as the 458.

The car is stunning especially in this new grey historical colour. The interior is much nicer than the 458, the finish is much better/higher quality. The exterior has lots of Aero Technology, the one at the bottom of the engine cover is impressive, only weird element was the door handles.

My dealer has sold all his 2015 allocation, so car is successful and he anticipates long waiting lists for it. He also confirmed spider will be unveiled in september at the frankfurt motorshow.

That's quite normal. Once our eyes gets used it and once the car is on the streets and more importantly one our buddies has one, most of us including all the naysayers above will rush to get one... believe me :)
