Keep in mind Russell has been on leave the last 4 weeks. Personally, for the work you are doing, recommissioning a car, I would want him on site to oversee everything. My TR had 1800 miles on the odometer when I bought it 3 years ago, so we pulled the motor and replaced all sorts of age related items. It was in there for a few months. Since then, the car has not had one hickup. It pays to be patient. FFS, its an Italian car, what did you expect?!?!?

In defence of CM not everything is in their control like contracted out radiator rebuild.
I am not paying for any work so I am happy to just wait. Number of things have been sorted from the PPI again not at my expense.

The car has left CM with a clean bill of health .....Yahooo...

Next saga.....sigh..... with the NSW rego, when the Australian compliance plate was fitted in Victoria by Vines, a clerical error on the plate has the vin number as a ***50*** Auto but the car should be a 44*** manual.....

Yep, my old 246 had the wrong numbers on the rego due to it being incorrectly transcribed previously. I just ignored it

The main issue is the car needs a Blue slip to satisfy the RMS. The guys at CTS are handeling
the problem, and they are telling me they have seen this before the car may need to go to Rosebury for an inspection and then there is a note on the cars file.... more waiting I guess.

I find it interesting that CTS had the car on the showroom floor prior to completing all the recommission activities - I assume it was on consignment and if they were unable to sell it then it would have gone back to the estate of the previous owner still waiting for Prince Charming to kiss sleeping beauty and bring her back to life.
As for the compliance plate problems - I can understand that there would be no point in them sorting that issue out till they knew which state they had to register it in.
In any case i am sure that the anticipation and excitement is building

The history to this car is interesting and the previous owner is known to the AFC.
I dont believe it was on consignment, at least that what I was told.
The non recomissioning was probably negotiating option as when I asked the full service was at their expence and registering the car was their task but my expense.

As for me being Prince Charming...the anticpation of what happens after the kiss................. is about how I feel

Congrats - you'll love it! A proper gentlemans Ferrari. I heard that it was a lot more than 3k in 3rd......Redline in 3rd will get you locked up for a very long time....Don't forget, the right pedal is connected to the horizon!

Looks even better than when I saw it last week in Brookvale - I'm impressed that CTS have followed up on all their promises, bar none.

Now, a red leather handbrake lever - that's pretty special.. Mine's ordinary old black.

I forgot to mention that there is an article in the current Auto Italia on buying 456's. Interesting that the prices are heading upwards, in the UK at least, no doubt dragged along by 550 and 575 prices.

If you don't get AI, I'll scan and send it to you.

    Thanks again guys.

Yes Dave you are correct.6 is more the number

Lots to fettle, sticky bits etc.

I am now starting to think Mr Chiodo fitted different final mufflers, as they don't have any head shielding and the sound is very very nice indeed.

A quick temporary fix for the sticky plastic problem is to wipe down with eucalyptus oil

Thanks for the suggestion that concurs with my wife, as she suggested eucalyptus oil.
