"The current production Ferrari road cars strike me as not too aspirational -- just fashion accessories, sold like Ferrari caps, watches and purses in the boutiques. Not aspirational in the way racing-related V-12s were." This cheap hit strikes me as not too aspirational. Is this what auto journalists call insightful?
Good details about the aero at the back of the car, though I think they meant to show the new Ford GT (in lieu of old GT40) to illustrate the similarities regarding the air flow inboard of the rear wheels to the rear. He missed the adjustable diffuser, though (as seen in the official video) and most likely some active aero at the front too,
Is there any additional information on other new features? For example, I understand the car will finally have keyless entry and start.
As is usually the case, as more photos start being posted, the design seems to become more appealing. Never pays to offer too quick an opinion. Really starting to like the side vent/scoop, which at first glance seemed out of place. In the flesh I predict this will win over most sceptics. Amazing performance numbers....
Can you trust an automotive writer who doesn't know the difference between Cameron Glickenhaus and Jim Glickenhaus?
Is it the rims design that confuses me, or is it just me who thinks the car "needs" a bit larger rims?
Just curious, but did anyone notice which shoes they were wearing? It looks to me as if they are using F12 size rubber on the red one.
As we have discussed, the future may be tied more to weight than hp, but as we (all) presumably realize Mclaren is in the race and its new 675LT weighs on 2,711lbs while delivering 666 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque . Best
hallo everybody. this will be my first post in this forum. i just left the exhibition area here in geneva, going home by train. my ferrari dealer had some time to show some featerures of the new 488. so i can answer some of your questions. there will be a keyless start system, but no keyless entry. there will be also a passenger display available like in the f12. i havn't noticed any acitve aerodynamic components at the front. everything seems to be solid. where the hell do they want to fix the license plate? there are al lot of cf components to order for good cash, inside and outside. the grey 488 is almost fully specd. prices start from aprox. chf 250'000. i like the new 488 and it looks better in real than on pics. but i am happy to get one of the last speciales in june 2015.
