NSXER's pictures in the Countach thread
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143673929-post20560.html
got me thinking of the Lamborghini Back Lot, or whatever you prefer to call it, where many prototypes languished for years before being rescued. I remember seeing pictures of the Jalpa prototype there, I think in a late 80's or early 90' magazine, but when I went looking through my literature, all I found was th "death in the Afternoon" photos in the June 1987 Car magazine.

I would like to see more pictures of back lot, the rescues or development cars around the factory. I thought a new thread would be the place to do it. Hopefully, many of you will be generous and share you photos here.

    Thanks!

Very cool. I have a few of these shots from early '80s magazines, I should scan them and include them with this thread.

Still hard to believe that the 350GTV sat in such condition for years!

I am amazed that nobody else has posted any photos here. Maybe we were the only people taking pictures of the back lot. In any case, this is from a factory visit in February 1975. It shows two Urraco prototypes and the "racer".

DWR, do you have more photos from the factory visit in February 1975? This might be very interesting, especially the Countach production line.

The Jalpa proto was never there but it still exists as the Jalpa Spider.......

    Are you sure?

I would swear that I had see pictures of the copper colored Jalpa with the two-toned striped interior. Or maybe the car I am describing was not the Jalpa proto?

Yes I really am absolutely certain. The final reincarnation of the bronze proto, the Jalpa Spider, spent some time behind the factory still with gold wheels and there were many other V8s there at one time or another but never the bronze car as this became the silver development/test car. Apart from a white? Jalpa in the US with grey/white striped seats masquerading as a protoype the only other car with that striped interior was the bronze Jalpa proto with 3.0L engine.

Great shots... Love the urraco 's.

Did you take any pics of the black prototype silhouette with the snorkel air scoop which was being prepped and tested in the winter of 75? Seeing more period photos of the yellow urraco test mule or "bob" rally car would fantastic as well.

    Many thanks for posting

    HF.
