Turning off Car Wash Mode.....

    So I got the car back from service and it's in car wash mode which is pretty annoying....the manual states how to turn it on but not off.....do you just repeat the "on" procedure?

    Car wash mode activates if you turn the engine off while the gearbox is in neutral. If you stop the car in gear 1 or reverse - normal ops...

    So if you switch off in neutral, you can push the car? Sorry, I'm away from the car and can't try it.

    No...it needs to be specifically put in car wash mode....the steps are in the manual but something like switching the car off in neutral then turning the key to position 2 within 3 seconds (IIRC)

    Yes. You need to be aware that the car can roll if you shut it off in neutral. The parking brake does not activate automatically. However, if you switch on the parking brake and then shut down in neutral you are ok.

    But it only stays in car wash mode if you leave the key in, right? Once you take the key out, i believe the parking lock is engaged again.

    I turn the car off in neutral all the time and there is no roll....you need to turn the car off in neutral and initiate car wash mode to male it rollable....I just didn't know how to get it out of car wash mode

    The gearbox stays in neutral and parkbrake will not engage with engine shut... Exactly what you need for an automatic carwash with engine off...

    Car wash mode should throw a video on the screen of some Italian guy admonishing you for even THINKING of running the car through an automatic wash.
