Mate, you did not tell more you were there, I was in the Blk 991Turbo S, most I saw was 185, at the 1st brake marker, but I was on the left side and had to do a steering correction at 175mph, due to the slight dip.....not nice
So much for Rons words........You could not make this up. I would wager a good bet that this is Mac marketing just keeping it all going until all he P1s are built, ie no doubt in my mind that some owners brought the P1 on this basis that it was just that..........P1......... I know I almost did.........
For me the figures only tell half the story, the real point is the way these 2 cars are built and the tech that you actually get for your money.....a well spec P1 is what 900k-to 1000,000.00 here in the UK, my 918 cost just over 600k on the road........
The 918 (non-WS spec at that) was never marketed as a track day tool in contrast to the 'any track, any time' P1 with TrofeoR slippers fitted and it was faster around LS, impressive to say the least. Enough said.
On lap times, it is now 4-1 for the 918 over the P1 Nordschleife (factory) Porsche 6:57 McLaren 7:04 MIRA dry track (Autocar) Porsche 1:05.7 McLaren 1:06.8 MIRA wet track (Autocar) Porsche 1:21.2 McLaren 1:20.5 Anglesey (Evo) Porsche 1:12.4 McLaren 1:12.6 Laguna Seca (Motor Trend) Porsche 1:29.9 McLaren: 1:30.7 BTW, the Motor Trend test 918 is a non-Weissach car with $180k of luxury options, not configured for lap times. Porsche was using it to show luxury options to potential customers - I spent an afternoon with that particular car. Also interesting that "Porsche reckons the 918 would be even faster with the same effort put into McLaren's tires and pressures"
So they basically ran the 918 standard car on standard tires twice when they broke the LS track record, then stopped. However, on the P1 they (apparently) ran it many times, tweaked the tires, and collectively scratched their heads/tried to figured out better ways to coax more time out of it, and couldn't? Absolutely hilarious/you can't make this up (as LMAO and select others, nonetheless continue to embarrass themselves peddling dribble)! LOL I'm not even sure Carlos Lagos mentioned, that the P1's race mode is not legal on the street. I'm sure he didn't highlight the difference between a Weissach Pack car, along with the Trofeo-Michelin tire differences. He was quite kind in this article (as I'm sure we'll get the "it's unfair, look at the telemetry" silly arguments). Imagine, a presumably faster customer 918 (mind you a Weissach pack, or track based tires) with tweaked tires on track and acceleration runs? Still reading.
Most surprising - not a single word about battery drops!!! Great article and good, that broke all the hopes we found here from some people in the last few weeks.. Now, we wait for treynor to feed some BS excuses to Lmfao and the last one to spread another 100 pages, hahaha
Too bad, they didn't do new acceleration runs, instead of rehashing what was already written in previous articles, then printing it in this one. A Sports Auto type run, would have been even better, more telling.
Actually they did regarding the battery. However, Lagos attributed it to both cars, mentioning how it takes (as many of us have stated in the past) a pro level driver trying to break records to actually do this. So my guess, it was both cars, otherwise they would have just pointed out it was the 918. I'll look for the quote/passage for you. OK. Here's the quote from Lagos/The MT article (see some of us here, deal with facts and actual events): He pulls in a few times for tire pressure adjustments and to give feedback to the two Porsche reps present. Bleeding-edge performance cars always require special attention and have their own quirks. Hot-lapping these two requires careful monitoring of the battery's state of charge. The electric boost in both roughly matches that of your daily driver's entire engine output; there's no point in pursuing the fastest lap time when it's gone. Either would be fine for constant lapping sessions with most drivers, but hunting down the fastest lap with a pro requires a different approach: one flyer at full pace followed by a warm recovery lap. Both cars regenerate power quickly, the 918 with braking and engine power, the P1 with surplus engine power alone -- there's plenty to spare. LMFAO, hey buddy, what happened with the telemetry some certain owner supplied. The one where p1 seemed faster in many corners, the one I was stretching, scaling and shifting? can you explain now what happened there and where the 918 advantage came from, because the telemetry we got from certain p1 owner suggested the 918 should have been at disadvantage?
Lmfao, where are you, buddy? PM Treynor to give you food as fast as possible, because the article is more then clear, what happened
What happened to the alleged P1 G Force/Cornering in Vaunted Race Mode, and Speed Advantage Around The Track according to much quoted and beloved TELEMETRY!? I see the 918 leading in most corners by my eyes (especially regarding the cornering, where it was a virtual shut out). So the Porsche, doesn't need the gimmick, road driving inhibiting RACE MODE after all (sans sticky tires to boot). LMAO indeed as I'm rolling over.
Hey, you, oi, I am talking to you, yes you, pointy head... do you know the difference between "then" and "than"? It is no wonder, "LMFAO" was able to troll you, in many technical arguments. Electricity, downforce, cog, you name it...most of his posts where sound. And yours are not. I am sorry to say but you are lightweight. Just like one other loonie here
That's the irony over there. They just avoid facts as if it didn't happen. There's a poster (forgot his name, think it's "Lukey" something), who posted the dialogue between a poster on twitter and Jethro Bovington regarding the 918/P1 test. In it, it clearly debunks some of the dribble LMAO and others have been peddling non stop. However, it sits there in silence and with no response. LOL You can't make this up. And then they get mad at us, though we're the ones living in reality.l
You are LMAO sir, only morphing into another mode after another embarrassing public flogging. You know the truth had to come out sometime. You just couldn't keep lying like that, quoting/posting nonsense alleged statistics and faux facts. Judgement day was going to come sooner or later. Instead, it wasn't in May (as many thought), it came in early March. Please stop now(and I don't care if you're not him, so please don't bother explaining). You need help man. Nonetheless, pass the Popcorn, from a pure entertainment perspective.
Oi, I can tell you that his points on the 918s batts were just rubbish.....as for the down force, what went wrong.....lol.............you could not make this lot up.......what a cataclysmic embarrassment..........
I am sorry to say but you are delusional idiot. Bloody clueless. You need help. Since you are calling me out and accusing me of being someone else, you need to back up your posts with facts. Either that or you will have to eat your words. I am telling you, I have no connection to "LMFAO" whatsoever. You need help, like fchat adminstration help. Either shut up or I will have you.
He reposted it from here on FChat where I originally posted it. LMFAO replied to it in his usual way.
Thanks. I knew it was a re-post from here, but didn't mention that. Thanks for being the originator. Oh, so LMAO responded in his normal machine gun, illogical (regardless of facts/previous response) dribble? Does that really count though? LOL. However, I don't think anyone else had responded. LOL Now he's Robert Mugabe BTW again, apparently? I guess that means LMAO will disappear for a while?
