Please read this thread I started http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-com/394041-countach-25th-anniversario.html

Yes by 1990 production was tailing off so there are few cars.

The market is the market, and because ownership of these cars is largely based on desire, a lot of the numbers are not always logical.

Then you have Topcarbon's '87 for sale at $325K with all of the recent work at Evan's. Less than half the price of this one. Crazy pricing all over.

The nice thing is you always have a choice to simply ignore cars priced out-of-the-range, and buy something that is.

I could be wrong but I think you are mistaken that he is only asking $325,000. I believe that was just an opening bid. Could someone clarify?

correct, that is just his starting point....reserve is much higher

  8. No reserve. It would say "reserve not met" under the bid if there was one. :)

He listed that price of $325,000 in two separate threads on the other Lamborghini sites within the last week or so. No starting bid and no EBay listing. Am I the only one who saw this? That's all he was looking for. If not sold by April 1 he indicated he will keep it.

Potential Countach buyers, there must be something wrong with them?
Bizarre for not jumping on this well documented and strong car. One of the best color combos ever.
Some people need their head examined monthly :)

I can tell you that this car is solid

two drives of over 1500 miles without issue.

    this car is a bargain.

    but,if i am "forced"to keep it i win too

I see you reduced your price. You may want to wait to see what the two Countach's bring at Amelia this weekend. It may solidify that the market has cooled or you may find out you are giving your car away. Good Luck with the sale!!!!

Here is a challenge for everyone. Name a car other than the Countach that has a $1,000,000 -$1,500,000 spread from the same car with the same basic layout and drivetrain but 15 years difference.

    I can't think of one.

The later cars are going to continue moving up. There simply isn't any justification for this spread. I say hold you cars and watch them climb. If you need the cash get a loan using the car as collateral. There is always a chance they depreciate but in this situation the odds are well in your favor they will appreciate.

Miura's, 275 GTB's, and Cobra's also have a similar price differentials in the model range. The more desirable race cars of the fifties and sixties, this type of price split is seen for a car with good race history versus one that has a questionable history.

    Cheers Jim
