FWIW here is VIN 0014 which I now own up in Portland, Oregon. A 356 collector had been sitting on it for years in so-so condition and sold it to me in 2013 for ~$47K. The turbo wasn't functioning properly and the whole car needed some TLC but aside from a full repaint it's in great shape (and drives just as crazily as it did in '79).

The registry folks hadn't seen 0011, 0012, and 0013 so assume this is the oldest running '79 in the U.S.

    Amazing car!

Great Find! The lowest NA '79 930 I had seen before this was 9309800016.
Can you post more pictures, especially one of the VIN sticker in the door jamb showing # and date build date?

    Welcome aboard.

Love the emerald/viper green one too..interesting no passenger side mirror, odd for a 3.3 litre 930.. I do own a minerva/carbie blue '79 930, thinking of putting the graphics on her but not sure..

Just another modded 930 .A Kremer, not even built at the Stuttgart factory. Just think your 930 could sound just like that. Just get in touch with Woods, Holcombe, Jarvis, Kremer, Dawe etc. No affiliation.

It’s an awesome sounding car and amazing that was driven to the event on public roads.

Kremer’s Le Mans winner was a factory 935 to customer specification by the FIA rules even though the Kremer brothers basically built it up from bare components improving on factory specifications. At the 1979 Le Mans, Kremer Porsches finished first and third, Dick Barbour’s 935 in 2nd (with Paul Newman as a co-driver) and 934 in fourth, all homologated by FIA No. 3076 from variations of the production Porsche Turbo (930).

For sure, Kremer GMBH and Porsche had/ has a good business relationship.

Yes that is one of many reasons I have this street 2 Kremer Porsche. Lots of misinformation out there about these cars and affiliation with Porsche and DP. I would like to own a Kremer race version, however my skills to drive it well would be woefully lacking.

Peter, thanks, happy to oblige you. It is on my "what if $$$$$? " list along with about 1/2 of my Turbo collection ( Voiture Ltd) I will be divesting myself of, at the rate of one, maybe two a year until 6 or so are left.

Just scored two excellent period P7s for my '78 turbo project. The front is NOS, the rear has 9/10 tread. These seem to be really rare. I'd appreciate any leads for anyone who sees one and doesn't need it!

P7's so cool. I had a big batch a few years ago, they all proved useful to so many folks doing what you are doing, sold them off for a variety of applications. Only concern is do they fill out the wheel wells aesthetically being 50 series on your 930?

I was told the rear will take these 345/35/15s but have not tried them to see what they look like.(they are old and probably dangerous).
