    Hi!

    These is my first post!

Is the new 488 a completely 6 year cycle replacement of the 458?
Can we expect the same as usual: 488 / 488 spider / Scuderia, Speciale or so edition of the 488?
It looks to me more a mid life lift than a full replacement.

    Thank you very much!

Except that it has changed to a 4+4 year plan. The 488 has a 4 year lifespan and be replaced in 2019. At least, that's what I've been told.

I´m trying to make my mind on buying an Speciale or give downpayment to a 488.

When I bought my 458 Spider I had driven my friend's Italia. I put a deposit down and drove the Spider for two days but really did not open her up. I loved the car but pushing her to the limits was a highlight of my life...and continues to be.

Bottom line it all boils down to faith. Either you believe the 488 will be much better than the 458 or you do not. As far as I am concerned the 458 Spider is the perfect car (for me) or you do not. I am happy but afraid if I drove a 488 I would have to have it. ;)

That's the thing. Most people would get the 488 in 2016. That means 3 years or less til a completely new model.
I figure I'd wait for the completely new chassis. The 488 is a facelift, but with a different engine.

My Dealer told me that it is a brand new model and there will be the usual variants of the 488.
He can get me one for october!

It's a 458 update. In fact, the 458 panels would bolt up on the 488. It's based on the same chassis and body etc. In other words, it's like a 575 to a 550, a 328 to a 308 or a Cali T to a Cali. It's not a "completely new car".
