Finally I remember to pick these up. 1) Gearshift reverse lock. The old one is plastic and already worn. This one is aluminum alloy. I had to make a minimum of 10. I will keep 2 and sell 8 pieces. $30 each plus shipping if anybody wants one. 2) Door hinges cap. I made 100 of these, same aluminium alloy stuff. I will keep 20. Needs 16 per car. $2.50 each plus shipping. Shipping should be very cheap since it is very light. I also made aluminium gearshift lever for myself from cast aluminium, but only made 2 and do not have any spare to sell. If anybody wants one I can check the price. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Engine test run tonight. Turns out the problem of low left bank exhaust temp was the ignition wires are too old (for the whloe left bank). We made new wires, and test the car tonight. New problem emerges, the cyl 4,6 temp is a bit low, and surprisingly cyl 10 and 11 is dead. There is spark but I guess there is no fuel. Gotta check the injectors (all 12 are new) again tomorrow. We are already tired at 10:30 pm so hopefully tomorrow we will find the fault once and for all. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmmmm... TWO Haltech coils malfunctioned. The first one happened about six months ago BEFORE we even start the car. The second one happened tonight after only about 300km of troubleshooting the LM. Haltech did not cover their coils under warranty. Priced about $120 each. Do You guys think I should complain? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is my ignition setting : ================= Spark mode : Twin Distributor Spark edge : Falling Trailing spark edge : Falling Dwell mode : Constant change Trailing Dwell mode : Constant change Dwell time : 5.000 ms Dwell duty : 70% Ignition lock : Disabled Lock timing : 0.0 Lock split timing : 15.0
Setting was incorrect, dwell time should be 2.5ms to 3.5ms max, not 5ms. BTW the second coil is free.
We did throttle body adjustment on both cylinder banks, inspect and replace 4 of the brand new spark plugs and voila ! Everything works perfectly. We just need to adjust the fuel which is currently running a bit too rich. It has been 23 months, and to me it has been a wonderful journey with lots of head-scratching moment and patience. Thanks to Tony, Prof Indra and Agus for the hard work, suggestions and also a good teamwork in problem-solving during this project. Truly a world-class quality work by the team members. Special thanks to Tony for letting me use his office and his equipments, and access to aviation parts. I would also like to thank Chad, Emilio, Roy for the help in parts search. Thanks to Nick, Taz, Chad and everybody else in this board who gave many inputs and have the patience to read this long thread. For anyone else who is still thinking to own an LM ... just do it ! It is not an easy car to maintain let alone restore (this is my first rolling restoration project) but hey, the payoff is great. I don't see Lambo planning to make another 3100kg tank anytime soon. This is an oddball car made because they lost the bid for army contract with chassis leftovers. Typical Lambo in the 80s. It will not happen again with Audi 21st century management style. I am so very happy tonight. Cheers, Taffy
Taffy , no problem , it's been a pleasure I laughed out loud when I read this as if the project is over ... it's a 25 year old Lamborghini dude !
