Congratulations. Be prepared to be utterly frustrated by the red tape, but completely bowled over by everything else.

if u manage that too, I'm gonna have to shove a potato up your car's exhaust pipe.

many USes I know say Italy is boring, though, compared to their US life. Dont know if they refer to weapon laws or something else.

If you don't learn some of the local language, and are therefore culturally isolated, then yes you will be bored.

No no, I dont mean not being able to speak Italian, if u wanna live here it's obvious that u better know some, but I mean, literally, the living style. Slow, boring, red taped and monotonous. Awesome food though.

At least compared to what THEY SHOW US the american life is.

The Americans stationed in Europe that I've seen complain about it were just boring people themselves. I loved Germany and have no doubt I'll love Italy.

Bull****, unless you are talking about a small village far away from a big city.

I lived in both the US and Italy (close to Milan) and I can affirm that your life will be boring if you make it boring.

Lived in Italy about 10 years ago, in Milan. Lots of fun -- I have lived in NYC for last 9 years... similar lifestyle overall (prefer NYC to live in, but Italy is so good for visiting that I'll be doing my honeymoon there in June this year).

Hi Todd, I'm Luca and I'm a young mechanical engineer living in Milan.
I've read your posts and I've noticed that you're both a Ferrari and a Ducati lover. That's great! I'm too a proud "Pompone" owner (I currently ride a Monster, but I'm gonna get an Hypermotard 821 SP) and I have fun with my bike almost every week-end.
If you want to have a ride on some of the best streets of the Alps, you only have to PM me. Obviously, apart Mugello (which HAS to be reached via the wonderful Futa Pass), you have to visit Ducati museum in Borgo Panigale! It rocks!

Ciao Todd, "Pompone" is the nickname that represents Ducati's 2V engine. In Italian it sounds like "Big Pump". The engine was called after it because when you fully open the throttle at low RPMs it's like if a jackhammer was hitting your footpegs! :)
