Did anyone come up with any info yet? My car is sitting in the paint shop with too-dark gold on the wheels :(

Well it would be really dumb to ship magnesium alloy wheels without proper treatment and protection so I think we can assume that they at least were primed and if you're setup to prime the wheels why not just have them painted as desired?

    Nice spotted.

And thanks to Olivier and his friend for the paint code.
Now we need the same for the silver Ozetta wheels.
Perhaps your friend has this code too?

Thanks Olivier - now I really am in a dilemma. I have silver replica Bravos on 40006 and I am about to refurbish the original Campys. I prefer the look of the silver/red combination but I think this first production Silhouette had gold rims from new maybe the only one in gold/red combination....I really like originality but.....do you, your fiend, or anyone else have an opinion to share?!

    Check it out.

Here's some pics of the wheels with that paint code mentioned above, the perl gold.

One shot is in a darker environment, in my garage. The other shot is outside in the sun. Still cleaning up some rough spots and dirty tires, but you can get an idea how the color looks.

    Thanks for posting the pics.
Did you use the paint code RAL1036 Perlgold Met?
    Are they powder coated?
Your wheel color looks different than the ones posted by Olivier:

That paint came out great! However, I almost believe there is 2 different wheel colors. My current Jarama wheels look more like the shade of Olivier's photos.

That would not be surprising. I can see the OZ having its own identity over the 70's wheels.

But then again, it all could be in the lighting.

They are painted, not powder coated. Yes I used the exact code RAL1036 Perlgold Met.
I've seen them look just like that picture Oliver posted in some settings. It really depends on the lighting. Even my indoor pic is kinda bright, cause I had the garage door open.

That is not original paint, too glossy, too bronze.

Here is a car that is known to me to have original gold wheels (Route OZ stickers still in place). You can see that the factory finish is rather more satin, almost matte.

I think the color is fine, but your wheels may have been treated to a generous helping of clear-coat, resulting in a more glossy finish that the original factory application. Here is a close-up of the original application, note that this is on a LP500S as well.

Driving on 10 year old tires may cause a fatal accident. Just a friendly advice!

yes..early rough sand casting more gold..later tecno and oz were more satin. Lighting, photos and surface finish plays a big part in the color appearance.
