I tend to agree that this was a bit of a fluk sale and the stars alined to come out with this result but there had to be more them one "fool" there bidding. There was at least 2 or more willing to pay close to that price. Unless the fool was bidding against themselves.

None the less, the market has and is heading up. I said it would happen years ago. I wouldn't take 100gs for either my 355C or 95 355B right now. I love the price going up and if my C-car gets up to where I feel its a good time to sell, then it will go. My GTB will never leave simply because it is too beautiful and too great a car to drive and look at. These cars are simply amazing to say the least. For anyone that thinks prices are all ready high for these cars.....Check out the Toronto housing market. I thought it was crazy 12 years ago and our houses are still going up and I have been witness to bidding wars over and over to the point where identical properties are selling 3 months later for a 10% premium. Numbers no matter what they are, are simply that....numbers. The 355 is at a low number right now. The prices today will look like a huge deal compared to a year or two from now.
Enjoy...they are fun machines. When its snowing.....I just walk into my garage and for some unexplainable reason I smile ear to ear. :)
Just like land....they are not making any more.

#21 fiorano looks like a peach on ebay.

Going for $109k - probably won't last long. Great cars. Glad to see them being recognized and taken care of.

    I have a beautiful Rosso Corso/tan 1998 F1 GTB...but I would love to add a silver 6 speed GTB to my collection.
Maybe not the most popular...but I love most Ferraris in silver.
Most of us missed the boat on the Dino's and now the 308's...I am really thinking about grabbing a few more 355's...they are absolutely amazing cars.

I am lucky enough to have both these cars in my garage currently.

The 993TT I've had since new. Every mile put on by me.

The 355 is a gated GTB I got 6 months ago with negligible time spent behind the wheel so far (I hope to change that this year).

As such, I am very interested in how each of you have arrived at the conclusion that 355>993TT

I'm not challenging it, I truly want to understand your perspective.

I'll give it a shot :). I was deciding between these 2 when I bought my first 355 5 years ago.

I think they are both gorgeous and the 993 is my favorite porsche, but in my eyes the 355 is still a bit more pretty.

The 993 is built like a bank vault. Makes the 355 seem a bit kit car-ish and unfinished in comparison.

993tt just like any other factory turbo car has easy potential for big power gains.

In the end, I chose the 355 after watching many sound clips of both cars. Just watching (hearing most importantly) a 355 capristo fly by gives me a jolt of adrenaline.

Similar 993 video elicits no such emotion.

The 355 looks, sound, rpm, throttle response is all very racy and exciting.

I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different cars, both excellent.

You guys can argue about Porcshes , not really sure why they are in this thread discussing an all time high for 355s, but really take note boys. The all time high for a 355 was a Spider!!!!

Oprning a special bottle of Rosso Corsa tonight ! Cheers !

10 years ago when I was first shopping for a toy car, I started my quest in search of a 993 C2S. Shortly after, I was distracted by the 355. Now, 3 355s later, I'm pretty much hooked.

That being said, my desire for a 993 hasn't diminished. Yesterday I had my 993 delivered. I figured I'd better jump before prices went any higher. I love this car, and I'm looking forward to learning it.

    Sorry guys. Back on topic.

The highest price ever realized for a Ferrari f355 was a Spider. That is that gorgeous, first electromechanical , drop top Ferrari. Spider!!

Mike, I hear you loud and clear. That also sets a standard no doubt.

But, the hype on here has been so pro B and GTS that it is has been deafening to a fault. I just want all the B and GTS proponents that have been vocally anti Spiders to take note here and now.

The highest price realized on a f355 was on a Spider.

    Case closed.

I'm sure Challenge cars would fetch much more than 180 in the right condition at this point. ;)

Not hating on either...the 355 is a beaut in all forms in my opinion. I just prefer hard tops on sports cars.

    Also, +1 on the F1 crew. :)

A great data point for sure, but this is just a single example. Also, challenge cars have sold for more than this, so it's not the highest price ever.

Auctions are a funny thing, and this is the first time we've had a 355 at a high end (not BJ) auction.

It would be interesting to see how both a B and spider would do at the same auction.

You may prefer hard tops but for the f355 Soiders have set the standard if highest price realized is an indication of value.

Money talks. Yacking on fchat is just... Well chat
