I really like the fitment (lack of options) and it looks pretty nice from the photos. I have an extra set of early black leather sport seats that would make it ever better sans the aftermarket Recaros :)

Damn! Where are these 1975's coming from that Magnus is finding! I am a buyer if anyone knows of the rock that one is hiding under. Can't buy it if I can't find it! Great color.

I am shopping for a couple of 76 US spec. 3.0 turbo engines, will purchase anything from complete motor to bare case. Specifically I am shopping for engine 6860120 and 686109 but would consider other low serial number type 930/51 engines or engine cases.
    Thanks,
    Phil

I checked out the car, it looks very original, maybe the left fender was replaced once in the past, other than that a nice example with strong (revised) engine. It needs a repaint and some minor stuff. Original wheels come with the car, not the original seats unfortunately. Seller had many phone calls, a Swiss guy wanted to transfer the money and buy the car unseen. I'm glad the guys at The Motors Gallery near Paris kept their word and reserved the car for me. No longer for sale :)

It looks a bit funny in this pic because of the fake fuchs and because it was jacked up just before.

I wonder what price premium the RM Auction's 79 930 brought solely due to it being a rare and unusual Chiffon Yellow/White paint-to-sample color over brown? $30k? $50k?

I would think the colour would carry no premium, turbo's need to be black, white, copper brown or red!

The last few years it has been the reverse: as cars treatment changes from being used cars to collectibles there tends to be a significant premium are those in non-standard period colors and some are less desirable. Similarly, the interior combination that is unusual can demand a premium, like original tartan cloth interiors.

This is certainly true with the 1974-1976 Carrera 2.7 MFI market, which I follow closely, and many other collector cars (Dinos, E-types, etc). I'm curious if this is true yet for early 930s.

I agree, cool period colours and tartan interiors always get extra $$$ for the 3.0 Turbo's

I'm a big fan on Minerva blue with the factory turbo decals.

    Vancouver,
Well I am glad that collectors like original colors and features on their 930. My COA indicated my car was originally black, however I bought it 25 years ago with 52K km in Guards Red, and now with 71k Km the paint with black leather interior looks just as good as a few years old. I agree, without air conditioning and air smog adaptation, it is very light and runs hard. Being the year that they were first hand built before 76, the quality of the fit and finish is incredible. Hats off to other fellow 75 owners.
    cheers

This is no doubt very true- the popular colors tend to cycle through but unusual and outrageous colors will always carry a premium over the more common colors.
