Daryl Pitt hooked me up to see some great live performances at the Blue Note when I was in the City. Great place for live blues.

Since it won a Grammy, I have been listening to Beck's latest album, Morning Phase. I am liking it a lot. It is one of those albums where it should be listened to from beginning to end - very few artists can put an album like that out.

The Hip just a few years ago, well they sold out in any Canadian venue they played. They'd sell out in 30 to 45 minutes. In the U.S unless it was along the border, they could barely fill a bar. Now even here they are less popular. Seen them 4 times live, great live band.

 

One of the pop-up articles on Yahoo listed White Stripes' cover of Joliene as an example of a cover that's better than the original. This song has been stuck in my mind ever since . . .
