I heard - 3rd. person but very reliable from an F-1 insider ( does PR for major F-1 team) that the body work on the barrier side of the crash was discolored brown from high heat... and that the fairly persistent answer inside F-1 is he got a massive shock.... Honda / Ron Dennis is mandating cover up no comment.

    But,...

The massive shock was the cars lack of performance...

And the brown stain,... well... you know...

    Hmmm..... Interesting indeed.

Uncle Ron may not be the most "popular" guy in the paddock, and they'll all try and "smear" each other given half a chance, but he's nobody's fool. *IF* true, the truth will come out eventually and he'll be in deeper **** than he was over spygate.

Haven't the FIA launched an investigation? If he was shocked(*) I'm sure the data will show the details; A massive discharge would certainly show up somewhere.

    Cheers,
    Ian
(*) I of course mean "electrocuted", I'm sure he was already shocked at the cars (lack of) performance! ;)

Whatever happened sure opened some loopholes in the contract.

Now there's an interesting idea. Could Alonso be claiming, privately of course, that the car, because of faulty design, caused him to be shocked, resulting in great harm? If so, would that allow him to exit the contract? Perhaps even with a pay off.

Naturally, McLaren would be denying any problem with the car. They would be looking to blame external causes, hence the gust of wind theory, or concentration lapse, or something only known to Alonso's doctors, who are sworn to secrecy. Alonso for his part could be holding knowledge of the electrocution over McLaren's head. Either release me from my contract (and write me a check) or I'll let it be known that the McLaren Honda is unsafe. To which Ron would say, just admit is was a seizure and we'll release you from your contract .

Man, this has HBO mini-series written all over it. If they could just get Kevin Spacey to play Ron. Or, a docudrama where Ron and Nando wear microphones 24/7 and one of them eventually admits, probably standing over a urinal, to being guilty of whatever it is they are guilty of.

I suspect that if he does not start in Malaysia that he will not make ANY starts for McLaren this season.

I remember years ago, that Mansell signed for McLaren and left after 3 races, saying the car didn't suit him!

I can imagine the same scenario with Alonso.

Alonso and Ron Dennis together is an unholy alliance, IMHO .

I said from day one honda would be a epic fail and this was before Fred . My point back then was why pay Fred big money when your engine unit is not going to run at the sharp end . Button and a young guy would've been the way to go aaa

Very interesting - thanks for sharing...As some others mentioned, Button sais he "poured over" the telemetry data to assure himself it wasn't an electrical shock. I couldn't imagine a stand-up guy like Button playing into a cover-up so, if this is true, I suspect Ron has to be pulling the bag over Button's head too...which of course he would have to do or else Button would refuse to drive.

Butto n is not going to do anything that going to hurt honda because they or companies like them is how he puts food on the table . Never seen a F1 driver's contact but I bet Fred can't talk out the the accident without the approval of McLaren or Honda

Would not surprise me that Fred will not end up at Williams in a couple of Wewks if he can find some sponsorship money to make it happen

    Progress of sorts.....

Hopefully, the spineless clowns at the FIA have learnt from the Jules incident that cover ups don't work and will release their full report this time. If he was electrocuted, and personally I very much doubt it, everyone in the paddock should be told exactly what happened and why.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Hell bernie might help Fred find the money . Bernie could use this as a way to kill the power units he hates so much . Bernie could go to the tracks and tell them to tell fia that safety crews can't touch the cars because of electrical shock danger

Of course you don't mean "electrocuted". If so, we wouldn't need to be talking about his career anymore. Electrocution, like execution is, er, final.

Is it possible he is hoping that Mercedes will find Hamilton's contract renewal too expensive next year, and is hoping he can break the Mc contract and move there?

    :D

Seems it depends where you look!.... Some include 'injured', others say death.....

I do know my (very old) medical records note that I was once electrocuted, and I'm still upright(ish)..... ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

You suffered an electric shock and lived to tell. Electrocute and electrocution are the combination of Electric and execute or execution meaning to put to death, thus Electrocute results in death.

    Yep!
