I'm actually considering a Vantage later this year... how do they drive in comparison to a Maserati GT? Beautiful cars by the way!
Walter - Congrats...... I have a couple of buddies with these cars too. They are pushing membership in the AMOC. Did you join? Not to take this thread off topic.... but I got home from work yesterday and my wife was upset with me because I put a front plate on the Vantage. She (correctly) stated that a front plate destroys the view of perhaps the most noteworthy part of the car. It is kinda funny because for years I refused to put front plates on my sports cars, and just paid the tickets (usually got 1 while driving every other year, and about 2 or 3 per year while parked) as cost of ownership. Back then, she was yelling at me to put on front plates. Now I don't ever want to give a cop a reason to stop me. Thankfully, no need to drill into the AM to mount the plate.
I haven't joined yet but I likely will, have you? Agreed, I hate the front plate law in Illinois, makes me wish I almost did an LLC in Montana and reg the car there... Did you put on a front plate? Can you send me a pic of what it looks like? I already got a ticket parked on the street here in Chicago.. $60 :-\
Do what I did with the 997. Double tape the plate on the lower bumper. I kept tape in trunk and every time I parked outside downtown I would put it on. Never got a ticket.

Zip ties also work with no residue. A friend of my father's had a 400 in the 80s and he used a magnetic strip
See plate... hate the look, but I'm becoming more risk adverse or cheap (or both?) as I get older. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful cars. One thing that I love about living in the City of Chicago is that cops here don't really care for traffic violations. They are more concerned with stopping actual crime. Unlike the suburbia cops that pull you over petty traffic things... Thanks! See PM I sent
While true the parking patrol does care unfortunately . Already received a $60 citation for no front plate while parked on Ohio.
On my first night of ownership I went to Gibsons. Didn't want to valet it so I parked it right around the corner (literally). Thankfully didn't get a ticket. Although I was a little bit paranoid No front plates for me
Looks like Chicago got really lucky with the rare museum Alfa display. The cars at the New York Auto show are not as rare or important. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Beautiful Vanquish! Looks very classy and James Bond-ish. Imo the 918's behind looks better than its front. It should be driven in reverse at all times. Great looking Ferrari
