Search the VIN on FerrariChat. The shade of yellow may be the least of problems. Due diligence!

Giallo FER 102. I believe the sticker on E bay is a reproduction by the fonts compared to the original below. As noted prior, not the original color.

This is my first post at any issue involving the price rise and only to speak out that I read all over the place that 308's are wanted more than 328 and sell for better prices, whilst same is written many times about GTB's are wanted more than GTS. In actual fact have I never seen in Europe else than that 328 is clearly more expensive than 308 and GTS is still average offered at higher prices than GTB's.

If you have been here long enough you should see there are differences what people in this forum favor and what the actual market desires.

In this forum high mileage low-cost well-loved Euro Carb 308 GTB in any color beside red is very desirable (and cooler if it's dry-sum), but out on the market low mileage high priced US spec red/tan '89 328 GTS :) are more desirable.

What does the market desire, today, in your opinion?

Rarity affects value with these cars. 328 GTBs are rare in the US, therefore they will command a higher price than other 3x8 variants. GTBs are now seen as the better-driving cars, plus there are fewer GTBs than GTSs all around, so the result is predictable.

I do not know USA market, but here carbed cars cost like 328. Today here in Italy (and Europe) we have (in descending order): Vetroresina, dry sump and 328 GTS (ties), carbed 308 GTS and 328 GTB and turbo Intercooler (all three same prices), Quattrovalvole and first turbo, injected 2v. The biggest price rise is now for turbocharged cars.

i think today values are in Europe from higher to lower:

    GTB glass cars
    GTB dry sump
    GTS carbed
    328
    208 intercooler
    208 turbo - QV
    308 i

fully agree with Alberto bigger rise in price is for the turbo (old or intercooler)

my personal fav. is the old turbo GTB.

    Maybe.

I don't think the GTB is seen as a better driving car since these cars (for the most part) are not being raced where a 10th of a sec matters.

In my world the GTS is the more popular though the GTB may rise in value past the GTS in the future since there are fewer of them in the US.

Of course the reason there are fewer GTB's is BECAUSE they are not as popular.

You must have never driven a GTB....it's got nothing to do with lap times.

From 308 through to 328, the GTB just feels like a more solid and better built car. I've driven plenty of both, and there are no exceptions.

That is what i meant above. Prices in Germany, Benelux and most other European countries show 'clearly higher prices for 328' than for dry-sump, QV as well as i 308's. It has never been else and - yes- also i folow this frequently. It might change in the future but I do not believe so.

Nevertheless will prices come down at some time as we must be heading for a bubble. Prices might not come-back to the old level of 1 year back but all fast rising things come down at some time and fast as well. So lets just continue enjoying our cars

The bubble has been talked about for some time on this forum and the values continue up, difficult to see a bubble bursting soon when we are coming out of recession(uk) , price correction of undervalued cars following a worldwide recession is how I see it.

Your right I never drove a GTB because I was never interested in getting one.

I guess I am just a rag top type guy.

To me a car is "better" if I can pop the top off on a sunny day and enjoy the day while driving.

But everyone is different and thats what makes the types of cars engaging. It would be boring if we all drove around in the same thing.

+1. They are like two completely different cars. As one of my friends once said "once you B, you'll never S again."

add another one to your friend. I have both:the S has the removable roof as a plus, but it's the only point it scores. There is no game: B is another world.

Despite that, the S still is a bit more valued.

    ciao
