And here Luigi Marmiroli clearly says: "Paul, forget all those earlier Countachs, this is the one you want!" Image Unavailable, Please Login
As fas as I remember only US cars had them. Same on the Jalpa. http://www.countach.ch/QV_spare/QV_injected/tav23.jpg
Joe is correct, here a complete and original LP5000s/QV parts Manual Lamborghini Countach 5l & QV parts manual inkl. USA | eBay
You may order Countach sun visors from Lamborghini. From the 1986 Countach parts manual: P/N 007058056 RH Sun Visor P/N 007058057 LH Sun Visor P/N 007858108 Bracket/Hinge (2 required) P/N WHT003574 Lock Screw (4 required)
Thanks a lot for the references! However, I don't want to drill any hole, so I'll try the child tint!
Sun-visors were available from the QV onwards. If you see them on a LP400, LP400S or a LP500S, they are a post-production application. Of course, the same is true of some QVs where they were ordered from the parts manual, or simply affixed post-production with an aftermarket part. What is clear though is that the 25th Anniversario came with them as a standard appointment.
I remember I've seen this ad' from Alpine (Japan-based company) featuring a mysterious White RHD LP400 converted to S-specs... After some research, and thanks to a great friend from Japan, the car is most probably #1120264, imported in Japan during the late-70's and seen Yellow with Tobacco interior. It is not 100% sure to be the original color when it came to Japan (probably yes but not confirmed yet). Also not confirmed: if Japan was its first destination. Later on, #1120264 has been converted to LP400S and repainted full-white during the early 80's in Kyoto. During the late 90's, the car was spotted in Hiroshima, still wearing its LP400S guise. Then, someone bought #1120264 and restored it to LP400 specs. The green LP400 in the last photo is #1120264 nowadays. Weird video... Apparently the teaser for an art exhibition. Does anybody know more about it? https://vimeo.com/50892432
The original footage is taken from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TzcS51jr-g Great high speed stuff driven by Le Mans Legend Henri Pescarolo
I love this quote: "at 300 km/h in a Testarossa, you smoke a cigar, in a Countach, you swallow it..."!

Hi everyone, It maybe has already been posted in this huge thread but I wanted to share this article that I just bought. Following the finding of the issue featuring a comprehensive test of my Espada, I kind of fell in love with how "Ruoteclassiche" are doing their reviews, with real tests performed with the same modern equipment as in "Quattroruote". So, I subscribed to the magazine ant tried to find as many interesting past issues as possible. The first I received concerns the LP400. And, wow, I am impressed by the results on a test performed 25 years afte the production of the car. Vmax of 299.2 km/h, very very impressive. Very interesting to see the real weight of those cars fully ladden for a test drive. I also enclose a picture of my Espada filled with the same testing material. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the article tonight! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This particular LP400 is known to be tuned by the owner with a lowered suspension, so its no wonder it goes & handles so well.
Does anyone know anything about the black Apine poster Countach here in Hawaii? I've been told from a few people that it's here, but yet to have seen it! I have a hunch about who owns it. He may be a member here, I believe he also owns an Mc12 and some other cars. Would love to hear more details of e car if anyone knows! Ian
Yes, it is 1120300, Nero/Bianco, the LP400 Alpine poster car, and it belongs to a Doctor friend of mine, I'll be seeing it sometime soon. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A good Countach (QV) vs Testarossa magazine test is the epic June 1987 Sport Auto test which was properly executed & calibrated, at a period when both cars where new and running as they should. Awesome! Thank you! I didn't know it was an LP400. If I'm not mistaken, I believe he also owns the white Miura that JN Exotics here had as well? That car was Beautiful! I wish your friend would bring it out to cars and coffee here or some of the car festivals! I wish I had your Job, Mr. Sackey! You must never get tired of seeing all of these beautiful cars. Ian
Hi there. It has been discussed already about the roof slits on the LP400. I remember #1120002 & #1120004 have 6 slits on their roof, #1120006 has 5 of them... while the green #1120008 has only 4 slits! (see first photo) Therefore, how could the green LP400 from the famous photo/poster (see second photo) have 5 slits? Could it be the previous owner of '0008, who once tried to make it look like the Production Prototype '0001, that would have gone this far as to remove one slit on both slits sets? (I hardly believe that of course, but who knows...) Or, could the green LP400 from the poster, in fact, simply be #1120010 that seems to have been green originally ? (see last photo) What do you think? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
