I love the car but I really think the next generation doesn't give a crap about cars like this. This car is geared towards the baby boomers that grew up with this car.

I grew up in the '90's - but my two dream cars remain 250 SWB and 250 GTO.

You are not the norm. A lot of kids don't even have a drivers license nowadays. When I was 16 it was a right of passage to have a license. Nowadays not so much.

    Maybe.
Flicking around on a smartphone is a poor substitute for hitting the road and a sense of accomplishment when you're 16.

    I feel that pain!

My oldest Son has pals that dont have any desire to go get their license. More than a few pals!

I brought my kid up differently. He was testing a Spec Miata before he had a license and then last year won Rookie of the Year in that Spec Miata.

THAT is what I thought was the dream gig for a kid. Its a bitter pill to see his pals care less! Baffling to this 'ol man.

But still... This car is a rock star ~ no matter how much you are into your smartphone.

I was at Marshall Goldmans last week and they sold an 85 white Contact for exactly 500k while I was there.

The prediction the buyer had was they will soon be a 1m car.

But the smart phone makes it a hell of a lot easier to sync up with the females when you're 16. My kids will be 16 in a handful of years and they like cars but nothing like I did...but man they scratched and scraped to both get iPhone 6s. I guess the girl next door really doesn't give a **** about cars! Then again-can you beat showing up at their house in this thing?!!

  12. There is nothing in the world like picking your kid up at school in a Countach.

My back of the envelope/dime store PsychologyPhilosophy (gotta add that cuz I'm making a Nietzsche reference too) on the subject..

Central to maleness is freedom; free to roam, conquer, pursue, chase naked women etc ;-).

As Nietzsche put it..to pursue the will to power.

The horse was the male's vehicle, then the automobile. The automobile was originally called the horseless carriage. Many car companies pay homage to the horse, as it (automobile) largely replaced the horse. Ford (Mustang), Porsche and Ferrari all have a horse in their logo.
Now, sadly, the cell phone and skinny jeans have replaced the automobile.

I put the blame squarely on Steve Jobs and Morrissey. Fans of both but damn..look at today's kids.

    Spectacular car!

Not to get too off topic but I'm 20 and the Countach has been my all time favorite car since my mom bought be Cannonball Run when I was 8. People constantly say the younger generations don't appreciate vintage cars but that is not the case at all. I don't even like the new stuff but have been obsessed with pre-war and post war classics my entire life and I'm not the only one.

Look at Instagram and see the younger car culture at work. You just need to look and find how hey interact with car. It is more than alive and well and the appreciation for supercars in general is staggering. I have no doubt the countach is a forever classic. Nice car GlWS.

I agree. I got 2 nefews that got into cars after they got a drive in the countach and saw mine. First when little they collected models. Now one guy is buidling a car for track and the other has 2 (inexpensive because he is still young and jut got one kid) he is refurbishing.
He even built a nice garage.

I think they are 2 camps of kids. for sure there is a camp who live in their head all the time with the new tech but I still see a lot of young passionate kids. Go see also a UCONN car show in CT. Not about just exotics but lots of car that they personalize.

As far as women, I se a lot of prediction that "touching" will be a thing of the past in 3D virtual iF.ck reality software. The first camp of kids will jump in that. Will leave more for the other camp I guess .lol
