    Damn discursive interweb!
    :)

Given the almost total revamp since last year if they're not at least third in the WCC they've failed.

And off-topic, but how smart is Hamilton's move now, in hindsight!?

Wouldn't that be wonderful? I am also glad that Seb came over to the Scuderia. I had real worries for a long while when Fernando continued to show unhappiness with the team. Every good driver seemed tied up, so I was very happy when Kimi came back, but still a bit worried because he would not say how long he would stay, but I was happy again when we got another top driver when Fernando left. It is important for Ferrari that we have men who know how to fight for a championship so when the car is up to speed we can be a shoe in for winning.

Would love to see Kimi extend again to next year. Not writing off this year, but the development strides Kimi and Seb will make will be vast.

Getting rid of the "all powerful and knowledgeable Alonso" (sarcasm) is the best move the Scuderia made in the house-cleaning purge of '14.

as smart as any move......I'm guessing they're all given assurances and promises. Some work out, some don't.

Schumacher to Ferrari seemed like madness too. When stars line up, they line up...but there are no guarantees.

So...how smart? I'd say he took a gamble, and it paid off.

It worked for Schumacher and Lewis, it didn't work for Alonso, we don't yet know about Vettel. F1 history is littered with lucky and unlucky decisions.

If it wasn't for Kimi getting balked into the first corner I think he could have taken Vettel.

Going to be a crazy season and with only two races completed the ball is still in the air but I am leaning towards Vettel as well. Something about Kimi is "rubbing me wrong" in the motivation department....did Ferrari waste money bringing him back?

Kimi has had horrible luck. His drive today was Schumacher-esque. I hope the rest of the season is like this.

This is hard to tell after two races in similar cars. Kimi has a back problem, but still drives all-out. He got stuck in a downpour during qualifying so he missed out on a good position due to no fault of his own, however he climbed up to P4 despite having his left rear tire shredded by Felipe Nasr's right front wing. At this point, it would be impossible to know who was the better driver. The good news is that Ferrari is giving both drivers every opportunity to have a podium spot in the same race some time in the future- all despite the Mercedes best efforts.

Kimi has TROUBLE written all over him.

I know that to a point you make your own luck in motor racing, but Kimi collects race incidents at an alarming rate.

The guy reminds me of Chris Amon who was always fast but attracted mishaps like a magnet.

In my book, today's real hero is Kimi. He finished 4th after all these troubles.

Agree on one, disagree on another.

Agree. Kimi did not quit today. He kept at it and at times had the fastest laps. He drove a great race when most would think he would probably be 10th at best. Pretty darn awesome.

Disagree: His race was screwed in qualifying which put him in this position in the field in the first place. This does seem to be a lingering problem with either him or his team. He needs to find a way to qualify right along his teammate (either ahead or behind) and then Ferrari can really start to pick up team points and victories.

+1 Absolutely! Despite a downpour of hard driving rain knocking Kimi out of qualifying for a better position in the race, he was able to drive through the pack to P4!

Kimi drove great, but I think it will be Vettel to take us back to the promised land.

Agreed. Kimi is an outstanding #2 driver and will serve the team well... unless he "checks out" somewhere along the way.

Both our drivers are heroes today! That was a beautiful race from our new racing star and a brilliant drive from the back by our champion star. I was so pleased and happy. Sebastian looked so passionate about Ferrari that it made my heart sing, reminding me of those days with Michael. But I want to think of him apart and let him have his own time with Ferrari like all of our drivers. That is most fair because it is impossible for anyone to match Michael and also, a driver does not have to do that to be great in our eyes. Forza Ferrari!!!

big call! Michael only had 2 championships when he joined Ferrari....Seb has 4, so that's quite a head start!

Michael took longer to get his first win at Ferrari too, I think....is that right?

I hope MS was able to take in what happened in the race...I think he'd have been thrilled for Vettel.

Pretty tough when your one and only shot at qualifying is ruined by another car.

Michael always used to say that records are there to be broken. I believe that Vettel will pass Michael's record. He is still very young, already 4 championships under his belt and a great future with Ferrari!

In qualifying he suffered because of the Team's mistake. They should have taken him out at the same time they did Vettel. And still with lemons he managed to make lemonade.
