Have UK SCUD prices overtaken the CS

Looking at Pistonheads it seems that the price for a high quality SCUD is now GBP 200K ($300k) so it would seem that they are the latest "new" classic and have at least caught up with the CS if not surpassed it (which is no surprise as its a better car to drive as opposed to look at)

I think that when comparing cars, condition, service history , as well as of course mileage will play a role in the price. All three will vary in each car so its not easy to compare cars as identical. Having said on the whole I would say that prices of the CS and Scud are very similar, at the moment in the UK and will probably mirror each other in the future.....

 

another important if not very important factor to look out at UK cars being sold is whether they are RHD or LHD....many a times LHD cars do come up for sale in the UK (and in fact in the CS market, i think they come up for sale more than RHD, cars even in the UK) and they aren't comparing apples v apples when it comes to pricing...

 

In USA the scuderia prices have been higher than the cs for as long as I can remember. In fact I don't ever think it was the opposite.

 

Scud prices have risen considerably in the UK apparently because a lot of RHD Scuds have been exported so numbers are low.

I had a Scud, great car - but personally I would buy a CS first. Way better looking and the noise is probably the best Ferrari V8 sound ever produced. The CS production was about half of the Scud meaning prices should stay strong. Scud on the other hand is an easier car to live with and has the notable pedigree of being tuned by Michael Schumacher!

 

RHD CS prices in the UK have been more than RHD (& LHD) Scuds I think since early last year (or maybe slightly before that IIRC)....however as mentioned RHD Scuds have caught up to a large extent....

 

officially cs production was 1200, scuderia 1288 ...is also wrote on wikipedia and this last gave lot attention in the source that they use when writing. Scuderia prices will defenetly growth

 

Yes, but MOST CS's are wrecked and gone.

 

If one were to employ consistent formula and historical precedence on Ferrari production #s, then is it safe to assume in relative ratio:

1 CS : 2 Scuderia : 4 Specialé ??

Probability of CS + Scuderia prices continuing to go up would be pretty high right?

How is a 2009 car a "classic"? I understand the rise in 246 and 512 BB prices, but this feels more like speculation.

In the US, you can get used 458s in the low $200K range. More performance, more new... much as I like the F430S, if I were writing the check for a modern car I think I'd have to go that way.

 

cs, scud and speciale ( this Last one in The future )are starting be very 'famous' beacause of their feelings and sounds...for sure their price will go to up The stars, Also now cs and scud are growing

Go read the CS market thread. There's also a CS registry website. Oh, and then there's that pesky old thing called "the market". Prices reflect "supply and demand".

 

terribly flawed..... CS production number is 1288...having this figure known is prob one of the reasons the CS is what it is today....Scuds' production numbers are unknown.....theory is to be in the mid to high 2000+....prob closer to 3000 (excluding the 16Ms)...so Scud +16M numbers are almost three times (plus / minus) the number of CS out there.....

 

nobody can knows The exact numbers of both cars... The only Think that is sure is that cs is an older model not bulit as well as Scud and not developed with Shumi... give to The Scud The right time and she will growth more than The cs. this is my opinion

 

I do not believe one has anything to do with the other. Each is it's own market and prices reflect "supply and demand". The CS going up has nothing to with the Scud going up and vice versa. Quit trying to lump them together. And nobody cares about performance.

Here's TopGear's fastest cars list. Ferrari in general is way down the list. If performance is what dictates price then why don't you all go buy a Corvette or Lambo?

From Ferrari, and not Wikipedia, which is written by amateurs and has all kinds of bad data, there were 1288 CSs built, 119 of which were RHD UK models. For the Scud I only have RHD UK numbers and there were 167 Scuds and 55 16Ms. Not a very big pool for any of the three, especially if they start going to Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa in any kind of numbers.

 

Speed limit is 55.

On the track an Ariel Atom will smoke all. So why do Ferraris cost what they cost? The point is that "price" and "performance" are not connected.

 

So all you care about is looks? Well most buyers are not like you! The majority of buyers look at several qualities when buying a car looks aside performance the feeling fit and finish, sound at least for me. Good luck with your high mileage CS

 

Jason- If your speed limits are 55, you need to move. 65 here right through the middle of Albuquerque on two interstates and goes to 75 right outside the city limits. Cannot live with 55 in the West.
