Your sunroof is only the second I have seen. It is very similar to this one I looked at a couple years ago in the Chicago area(when they were cheap). This car also had the full plexi panel across the back end. Good thing the roof is steel and not aluminum, so a repair back to original should not be too difficult. Just what all us Countach owners need! Another window to let more sun inside the cockpit so it can get even hotter! LOL! Mike
Actually the roof is solid Mike, so all you get is air. I could see it back then on your 4x4, but a Countach?
I never understood why noone ever came up with this solution for the Countach: http://www.miataturbo.net/attachments/race-prep-75/45597d1339114392-naca-window-ducts-photo-4-.jpg
Hello key03, agreed, not too difficult to return to original as only steel. Surprised it has a full plexi panel, never seen or heard of these before. Do you have any more photos of this car or other details. Wonder if it has any links to my red one or the other similar white one in CA. Don't suppose you know the chassis number ? All the best.
The full Vin is Za9c00500ELA12666 If you search that Vin you will find my posts on the "other" site as well as auction information, etc. It went through the Russo and Steele auction last year with 1 mile more on the ODO from when I last saw it in the Midwest. It is a 1984 side draft. As far as I know it was always a Midwest car owned by the original purchaser for 30 years or so. I should have never let it get away.
I know Wil deGroot has a conversion to add an A/C system to the Countach. The ex-David Kean 5000QV had it, And let me tell you, it would get cold enough to snow inside the cockpit with it running! It pretty much takes up the entire front trunk and you can't carry the spare tire. I have some photos of it on my laptop that I'll try to find and post up. Mike
I just found these images. I do not know the year they were taken or the car in the photo but they were taken at Mosport Park Raceway located just outside of Toronto Canada. Beautiful Lowbody ! The best looking CT and best sounding (with Ansa sport exhaust) in my opinion ......
^^^ Agreed! Toronto has some amazing cars, I spy a 512BB also in one of those pics. I grew up in Toronto and used to go to Mosport every year, those pics look like late '80s or early '90s.
That is terrific and lots of love is what it desperately needed. Rumors had it that the original owner would keep it parked in his driveway at times and covered in snow. This was from another Countach owner who lived around the corner from this one. In any event, is that pop up roof staying?
Mosport is my second home and I literally have thousands of laps there. Looking at a number of visual clues I would guess that these photos were actually mid to early 80's making them very much early period for the Countach in the images.
Hello, I remember this crashed LP400 photos were discussed here several times. After some research, I think it really could be #1120084, originally Verde Metallizzato - Bianco, delivered on May 2nd, 1975 to Switzerland. According to the production lists, it's the only one with 1120012 to be Green (all green shades confused) with a White interior. By the way, after all these years of investigations, I've never been able to find anything else about #1120084. Does anybody here know something about it? Is that the Countach that a British journalist (I think for Car magazine) stuffed, is it. I remember they were driving several Lambos across Europe for the mag, when someone pulled out in front of the Countach. This is merely a hunch, but what makes me remember this story is that the accident was north of 120 mph, but the doors of the car still opened, & the driver/passenger compartment was not compromised. Just a wild guess!
You are remembering the excellent article Convoy by Mel Nichols in Car Magazine. I believe that was a different car.
