Hi everyone....Wayne from NYC....found a 1988 white one basically the combo color I want. Ppi checked out minus the little bit of water on floor but was told might be a seal. If anyone has any info or can help me get in touch with previous owner would be great. Thanks ahead of time. The past owners are Peter and Cheryl Dunkel Collection vin ZFFSG17A6J0074941 thanks for any help. 1988 27K on car and looks clean from what I've seen lately. Haven't seen in person but looks like might purchase tomorrow pending some possible info here. Sorry tried posting all pics not sure how. Car is on bottom pic

what's up with the photoshopped photo ? seems kind of sketchy. Personally I wouldn't buy a car with after market wheels and scuderia shields, but that's just me.

Why would you not buy a car with scuderia shields?

@stardoc just a personal preference.... the TR was always viewed and built as a GT never viewed as a track or racing car (ferrari never photographed it on a track in any brochures etc) so I view the shields as kind of inappropriate and a sign of yahoo previous owners. They look Poor on this car in my opinion and especially If they were bolted on that's a big NO.

Simple, the car did not come with the shields from the factory and it does not look good on the TR's; just like 95% of the aftermarket wheels that find their way to the early TR's.

For some reason, the aftermarket wheels do not look (that) out of place on the 512TR and the 512M.

The shields are a personal choice and easily removed and the same with the wheels. To say you wouldn't buy a car because of those items is absurd. It is like saying you wouldn't buy a car because you don't like the stereo.

As for "yahoo previous owners", I would venture to guess you have NO idea who the original owners are, Peter and Cheryl Dunkel? This car was bought new by them and I'm sure meticulously maintained while they owned it as Cheryl likes to drive FAST, thus the wheels. It was sold at Mecum Monterey at the same time they sold their Porsche 550 RS Spyder for $3,750,000. Not exactly "yahoo" collectors.

Agree but only one year of Japanese TR came with factory shields for the anniversary of the Japanese Ferrari Dealer - but I forgot which year.

I like removable shields. Its like changing watches in the morning. Its all about personal taste.

@jaguar as I mentioned it's a personal preference. For me the car is ruined for purchase if it has shields and after market wheels. it doesn't have to be logical or make sense to anyone else. that's just me.

Shields can be removed with a hair dryer and wheels can be swapped out. At the end of the day the car's originality is maintained. I understand they are personal tastes but it's not as if this happened....

I just mentioned this car in the TR value thread. Remember when this car had the stripes, 14 cavalinos and wing? Its almost back to stock now minus the interior. I dont mind add-on as long as they are bolt on and the seller has the original parts.

Hello PCNY, congratulations on having the courage to buy a flat 12 Testarossa! You'll love the car! I wouldn't let a water leak scare me away. Get the car hot and drive it around before you think about leaks. Sometimes they leak from sitting too long. Enjoy your new life with a Testarossa!

Yup....I didn't buy Peter's 550 Spyder for $3,750,000 because I didn't like the Porsche sticker on the hood and those silly white dots....over the top.
