I bought both of my Stradales new in 2003. When Stradales were first announced nobody seemed to know for sure if they would be well received or not. Pretty bare bones. No leather, rubber floor mats, not much insulation, noisy, no radio, manual seats, etc. The European version of the Stradale was even louder than the US version (US Stradales have pre-cats in the headers that reduced the volume a little). I knew instantly that this was exactly what I wanted. Given the initial bit of uncertainty some dealers weren't quite as cocky as usual so I moved quickly and was very lucky to get two of them Stradales are amazing. Anybody fortunate to own one should keep it forever. I planned to keep both of mine forever. But when I realized the 458 Speciale was probably the last of the NA V8 engines I decided this would be a very special Ferrari to own and keep forever. But it was a thousand times harder to get an allocation for a Speciale than it was to get a Stradale. I ended up having to trade-in my yellow Stradale to my dealer for a Speciale. I didn't want to do it, but it was the only way I found to get a Speciale. I hope I made the right decision I'll know soon. My Speciale is on the water. Should be here at the end of the month BTW, I was going to order a yellow Speciale to replace the yellow Stradale, but at the last minute I went with Rosso Scuderia again Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's what I thought they only take three pictures during the production process. Better than nothing, but it would have been fun to see more pictures. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am not sure about the total number that came from the factory with stripes. I've heard 100. Back in 2003 the idea of putting a $5,000 optional stripe on a road car when the dealer was telling you not to because it would hurt resale value was a powerful disencentive not to order the stripe in fact, I initially took my dealer's advise and ordered my red Stradale without the stripe. Fortunately for me I saw a Stradale with stripe in person at the LA Auto Show a couple weeks after I submitted my order. It looked great so I contacted my dealer and changed my order to include the stripe Maybe stokpro will chime in and tell us what he thinks. But I have seem quite a few Stradales with "after market" stripes that look amazingly good. The only way I could tell it was an after market graphic was by touching it...the factory stripe is also a graphic, but it's under the clear coat. If you run your finger over the stripe you can feel it because the graphic was added on top of the paint. I'm guessing that a lot of guys added the stripe afterwards.
Mike... sold $$$ from January is incorrect. And as Lawin posted, price is $299k. Ad is up (no pics yet), but indeed it's 39426. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beauty in RS!!! @bikz No, most CS's are actually stripe-less. Less than 1/3 of North American spec CS's have factory applied stripe. @720 a lot of the after market stripes don't go all the way to the 'nose' and many of the decals are too wide, particularly in the white part which makes it easy to tell them apart. But no one looks that close anyway. lol how does this stripe look? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've heard there are about 300 or 350 Stradales in the US. Is roughly only 1/3 have stripes that may be where I got the idea that only about 100 Stradales were ordered with stripes I thought the 100 was world wide, but I was wrong. Thanks for clearing this up The stripe looks great on that silver Stradale, but I see what you mean about the white part being quite a bit wider
thanks for clarifying stockpro....the stripe gives the CS an even more distinct look to a CS that it is a CS (as opposed to a 360)... well yes before haters start saying it is a indeed a 360, i don't think that the CS was ever called a 360 anywhere.....please correct me if i'm wrong, but it was marketed as just "Challenge Stradale"..unlike/distinguished : eg. a Scud, which is a 430 Scuderia.....
Hello Guys... May be we will see the value of the CS going true the roof as the 250 GTO... We can dream a little seeing this picture... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Stripe looks wide, and that shade of silver looks darker to me. But silver with stripe is still my favorite!
Not only is the white part wider, the stripe doesn't reach the nose. @f355spider, the silver on that CS is grigio titanio. I have the original media press kit from Geneva Auto Show 2003 debuting the CS as the "Challenge Stradale". Kit mentions 360 Modena and even 360 GT, but not a 360 CS.
This is a picture of my CS on which I had the stripe hand painted. Still love this beauty! Image Unavailable, Please Login
