My CH doesn't have a service book either, just hundreds of service invoices. I don't get yet how an old service book does make sense for a different car than the one which is imprinted into the servicebook.
I'd like to have one now for my CH to start from but the one on ebay with a different VIN wouldn't really help.
Can anyone explain that? I might be to dumb to understand... :)

The book is correct. Just the sticker needs to be replaced. I'm sure a graphics shop could scan and edit the sticker - then you have a complete set of books.

I got lucky. Mine came with the pouch and all books... Don't know how the stars aligned for that...

If the history book got lost it is usually for a reason. Buying a book off ebay and then cooking up a service history is wrong if you sell the car the buyer thinks it is OEM.

If we all knew what our challenge cars went through, it would turn our stomachs. Just watch 1 race from Montreal in 98 and see how many C-cars were banged up. Multiply that by the 50 or more races they went through and all of these cars were banged up in more than one place. As for service history...What service? These cars have been rebuilt at least once maybe a few times. The service history makes for good reading but what really counts is what your C-car can turn on a dyno or what the results of a leak down and compression test might be.
The other thing you might want is a letter from Ferrari stating the your Challenge car is really a challenge car converted in 95 or built in the factory from 96 on..... I have a feeling some have converted their own street cars to challenge which makes them worthless.

No no, stop. I bought it only to have it. Not to built a History. It is a real Challenge book, that's important and maybe some Day the car Pops up, you never know...

FYI, I wasn't suggesting "cooking" up a fake service history with dealer dates added or anything like that. But I see no harm in a blank book (as I'm sure this one is) with the corrected front sticker showing the correct vin.

Are there any challenge cars with service stamps filled in? I have 50 pages of service records - and the booklet, with not one stamp. The owners just did not use the book for the servicing.

Just looking at the 355 challenge registry, someone said that the list is not complete and yet there are already 120 cars on there. There must be quite a few phoney ones around. Ive got a letter from Ferrari for mine as I needed it to import into Canada.

The thread title is incorrect. The auction is for the warranty card of 1998 355 Challenge, 112281, but the thread title says the warranty card is for serial number 118281, which is a RHD 550 Maranello. For posterity, can someone please contact a moderator and change the thread title so that there's no confusion in the future.
