Maser has Levante this year, Alfieri in 2016 and new QP coming you think they have space for a mid-engine TTV6 as well? It's like Maser overkill LOL.

We have to think as FCA, FCA is a multi brand company, like VAG, they need to achieve economies of scale beyond the brands. Ferrari is no sanctuary, they just build and sell cars.

I don't see a real problem if Maserati and Ferrari will share more technology components than in the past and if there will be more models with overlapping concepts. The main thing is these cars have their unique profiles, shapes and characters.

For example I appreciate an Audi R8 next to a Lamborghini Huracan or a Bentley GTC with W12 and V8 VW Phaeton/Audi A8 power.

Life is too short to not build such beautiful cars. ;)

Agree, but I just don't think that a V6 low-priced car will contribute so well to the Ferrari brand. Thank God they don't want to make a SUV or a 4-door saloon, but for sure making cheaper cars is also dangerous, because of the name... After all - exclusivity must also be kept.

For an example - "I own a Porsche" doesn't sound so well after the Panamera and Macan have been launched.

And about the VW Group - there is no problem for making an expensive and fast Audi, like the R8, as long as they don't make a cheap and low-positioned Lamborghini :)

If V6 is such a negative why are Dino's bringing up to half a million dollars ?

Even F1 ia V6 - New Ford GT is a V6 and the list goes on :)

I don't think the engine has any real bearing on Dino values, its more a function of looks and perceived collectability and perhaps investment return. (much as I hate typing that)

I don't think, that the Dino was a very good and profitable model in the Ferrari's history. The prices now are something totally different and don't depend on the engine, power or something like that. These are collectables now :)

And times have changed - stock ferraris easily go to 700 BHP and the name of the brand is evolved. I think the right long term strategy for Ferrari now is to try to keep and preserve its exclusivity.

There's nothing beautiful about the Phaeton.

Many Gallardo owners were complaining about the obvious Audi parts. Lambo removed the Audi logos few years into production.

I visited the Lamborghini factory last year. There are plenty of Audi labeled parts going right into the current cars. My girlfriend was shocked to see Audi cardboard boxes sitting on the work stations on the assembly line.

To go back to the subject: I will get my yellow 488 in october; customer's production will start after "ferragosto" that means in september. Customers will have the opportunity to drive the 488 in june in Fiorano...

This comforts me for having to trade in my beloved CS... with 35'000 miles on the clock

    Awesome! Congrats!

You sure you want to trade your CS? Values are rising. You can get good money selling it yourself or via a dealer. That's awesome you put so many miles in it; must have been a blast!

Agreed!! And, as others have pointed out, the 488 looks great in natural light and in its natural environment!

My yellow CS goes to a collection of yellow ferraris - the CS was the only one missing! So I did get a considerable trade in price...

They are relaying on their own interpretation of SM comments
about Not changing the structure of the Ferrari portfolio.
Which does not mean Ferrari cannot expand the models they offer
Look at McLaren they have one basic tub on which many models exist
