going on (and wallet going down...) I think this is called "bare metal" repaint (also called the "empty wallet repainting mode"...) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, obviously this is a "bare metal" repaint; perhaps also the "empty wallet repainting". But at least this is not an onion... (In French, an "onion" ("oignon") is used for second hand cars with a lot of disguised problems: each time you remove a layer, like when peeling an onion, you cry once more...) Rgds
I gained some money selling three cars, I will put the gain in that repaint... It was necessary: there was a disgusting "onion paint" as you say. I like a Ferrari that looks as a Ferrari and not like an old scrap that just "once" was a Ferrari. ciao
I'm sure she will be stunning, Alberto; especially in Blu Sera. "Le prix s'oublie, la qualité reste" (= Price will be soon forgotten, quality will remain) Rgds
Thanks, Bruno: that's absolutley true. But I still feel like a Kamikaze diving into an aircraft carrier... ciao
Great job and it will look super when done. The part that I never see mentioned after one of these restore's is what the final bill is. I don't have these deep pockets which I assume it costs to refurbish these cars so I assume the expense is more for self enjoyment rather the ROI. Good show.
+1 Thanks, Steve. The expected ROI, is 0 (zero). I paid the car 50 k euro, the expected restore cost is 35+ k euro, the final cost will be 85+ k euro. The market value of that car is more or less that, so this time I do not do it for money, but for a priceless self enjoyment. ciao
work in progress: yesterday I will have a shock adsorbers service too, as they look too bad in a like new car like (i hope) it will be ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Ciao Alberto, did you rent an apartment near Toni, to be there all the time during the work? Please keep the photos coming! Good luck with the restoration, Robert
Complimenti Alberto, hai fatto benissimo a restaurarla nel suo colore originale. E poi la targa originale MI è una chicca favolosa. Congrats Alberto, you did the very right thing in going back to her original color. I also like the original MI (Milan) plate very much. Fond memories of my youth...
Grazie, Jay: hai ragione, la targa originale nera Milano è la ragione per la quale ho comprato quella macchina. Thankyou, Jay: you are right, the black original Milano plate is the reason why I bought that car. ciao
