Hello. I have just bought new tires for my 1980 ser. 1 400i. Before I take the tires to the installer, I would like to know if anyone here knows the correct rim flange size, as there are many sizes. I just want to have new correct stems ready so as to avoid any delay/discussion at the shop. Thank you all in advance. I intend to use rubber stems to avoid any future loosening. Jq.

Nothing wrong with rubber stems but have never even heard of a problem with the OE stems loosening.

Thank you so very much for you reply, Mr. Rifledriver. However, I don't think that my stems are original. At the risk of sounding obtuse, where might I find these oems, or are they like the proverbial "Hen's Teeth"? at
    4 million bucks each? Jq.

They are more than generic rubber but do not recall them being expensive either. Call T Rutlands and ask.

They look good and are correct if that matters.

Thank you Mr.Rifle driver. T. Rutlands has the stems, so I bought 5 of'm @ $14.95 . Not as pricey as I was expecting.
they look over-engineered, like from an F15. Than you again. Jq.
