Since I have sold my 430, I am "looking" for a 458. I had an opportunity to buy a new 2015 458 as MSRP, but from comments here, I passed on that deal, plus it was not the color I wanted.

Here again, I presented with car. Prob one of the highest MSRP's I have seen for a 458 Couple at $346K.

I can prob get this car for $225K-ish. I have a trade-in credit with the dealer, so I save on the sales tax on the difference.

It is Silver - I wanted White, but I am OK putting on a Satin Pearl White wrap.

What do you guys think? Thank you.

As has been said many times, forget what MSRP was. The options sadly are not "worth" anything except in terms of desirability to you. You can find clean cars of 2012 vintage for the 220s you are mentioning. If you want a different color I would wait. Also, is interior (alcantara/leather on standard seat) on this car your first choice?
In regards to tax issue, if you find a car at another dealer, for a few hundred/thousand $ (?) this dealer might be willing to buy the car you like - at price you have negotiated - so you can use your old car in trade.

i would wait to get what you want. Especially color and seat configuration. Do you like the bi color standard seats in this car? I feel the basics are the exterior car color and interior configuration ( seats, color etc). If those aren there, doesn't matter how good the "deal" seems to be. I ordered mine to get it just the way I wanted. Ended up paying for just what i wanted plus a new 7 yr warranty. It was lower than a lot of current sales for one yr onld cars. Wait was not fun tho. Be patient and like a lot of other people said, there is a good used car with good pricing out there for you...Good luck!

That's not a GREAT deal, so I would pass and wait on what you really want. Prices will continue to fall so wait it out.

Looks like this car was purchased at auction in Palm beach for 210,000 based on a Mannheim report that shows s similar color car with similar milage. I can't confirm ViN so it could be different. If this indeed the same car, my guess is a 225 or 230 offer would be enough profit for this dealer but every dealer is different. Personally, I've had one dealership owner tell me he wouldn't even consider a deal that didn't have at least 30k in profit as they have to pay sales and overhead for exotic dealerships that don't have a big service end (ie non Ferrari dealerships) is high due to high building costs, taxes and inventory that doesn't sell well.

    $246k for a 2102 is a pretty strong deal...I've seen 2010's selling at F dealers in the 220's.

I think the car is priced well and very nicely equipped. Just make sure it's exactly what you want.

Correct, but isn't there a commission paid on top of that?

Thanks for all the advice....I am not a fan of the standard seats, but I do like the different material combination. Looks like I will pass as I should not be influenced by the MSRP.

Really options only matter if it is missing something you want.

Prices will continue to fall for the foreseeable future, all the way below $100,000. So, there really won't be a "good time" to purchase if you "wait it out"

Life is very fragile. If you can afford the car, and it is 95% of what you want, $225,000 is a great price.

A 458 for less than £60,000???? Not in the next 5 years no way. UK finance houses are offering £75k balloon in 3 years on a 4 year old one now and they are very conservative. No chance you'll get a 458 for that money within the next 5 years, unless it's crumpled lol

I always read people writing these extremely low values but there is no real transaction happening at those levels (at least I never see them getting posted anywhere as closed deals which makes me think that one can always dream). I think that around $225K for a clean 2012 with good options is a great price.

Actually, when it comes to buying a used Ferrari, you should be influenced by MSRP. As a used car buyer (as opposed to a Ferrari new car buyer), lets face it, you're a bargain hunter, in the market for a satisfying deal. Part of the satisfaction is going to come from snaring lots of options for a low cost.
IMO, you need to be influenced by every characteristic of the car, including how it was treated by the previous owner. To do anything less means you risk buying yourself a car which does not provide the satisfaction you had hoped for - or worse yet, a 200K+ lemon.
To me, the red flag on the car you were considering is in the CARFAX. Apparently owned by Ferrari NA, it eventually ended up being sold at auction. Which may mean Ferrari dealers rejected the option of buying it. And that, to me, is the problem with cars sold at auction. Most are, for one reason or another, rejects.

Good point but it might also mean that the buyer wanted or needed a quicker sale and was willing to get less at auction. This is what PPI is all about no matter if the used Fcar is at a dealer or is from a private party, you know what you're getting.
