    I am getting everything in place to finally drop my engine and have my valve guides and valves replaced. Hopefully no liner damage but we will see. I contacted Manley, the valves are a custom order they need to have a sample intake and exhaust valve. Seems odd as they have obviously cut 355 valves before.

    Does anyone have an old intake and exhaust valve they could lend me? I would like to have my valves before I drop the engine.

    Any help is appreciated!

    WSM book 1 chapter B page 40 has the blueprint specs.

    And why is it you believe you need new valves if you haven't pulled the heads yet?

    UCONN it's a 1995 Berlinetta

    JohnK, I may not need new valves but with the heads apart for new guides I would prefer to upgrade the OEM valves with higher quality valves.

    Oh, just for the record,
    After 60K total miles and 5K track miles along with about 20 minutes over red-line, all 40 of my valves were still in spec, as were all 80 valve springs. The guides, not so much. The valves had new seats cut, the seats were given a 5 angle cut during the refurb.

    All 40 hydraulic tappets were in spec, also.

    Now if I were (WERE) to need new valves, I would put Ti valves with DLC coatings in.......

    Whats the general opinion on k.lined guides with modern materials and new superformance valves? Just another idea i guess.

    I "blame" this on changing the oil after each track day/event.

    Yeeeuup and using a nice light weight oil for the street to keep them flushed and regular like prune juice :)

    Good question, I am not 100% on it but I ASS U ME as long as they are pumped up and no blueing on the surface
    I'm sure there is a collapse pressure somewhere like a valve spring
