My last night in the sunshine state with an RJ wide Churchill ... Too bad timing was off for us Tamas but it looks like you were in good company 😊 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lino, One day it will come together. Miss the sun and beach already. The woman are incredible and smoking a cigar while enjoying the "scenery" was quite enjoyable.
There are literally tens of thousands of options. A general rule of thumb is the darker the wrapper tobacco, the stronger and fuller the cigar. If you're just dipping your toe in the vast water, stick to Connecticut wrappers. Try the Ashton Cabinet series, Fuente chateau Fuente, Perla Del Mar, Camacho Connecticut or Montecristo White label. Now, to clarify, there are many companies that exist as US trademarks and also as Cuban trademarks and they are sold as the same name. These are hugely different from one another. A Cuban Montecristo and a Dominican made US Montecristo have nothing in common besides being rolled from tobacco. You'll see a lot of posts here from people touting a Romeo y Julietta or a Cohiba. Most in this thread are Cuban but be aware that there are US market versions as well. For distinction many smokers call the Cuban cigars Habanos, not Havanas
Good way to start is to go with a light to medium cigar and work your way up as you develope your taste... It all boils down to personal preferences...
This nice weather and a birthday for a close cousin was a great night to spark a Davidoff. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice ashtray ! BTW, did u punch the end of that stick ? How's the draw ? I used a punch cutter quite often but it doesn't work well on cigars that are rolled rather tight... My cutting style of choice latley has been the "V" cut or as my friend calls it the p---y cut( throw your mind in the gutter and you'll fill in the blanks ) !
I personally only punch cigars that are 54 ring gauge or higher, which I almost never smoke. Also when I smoke the Chisel vitola (La Flor Dominicana) I punch one side only and really enjoy the draw.
I am partial to the tiniest of tiny draw orifice...I bite...I have 5 cutters from Guillotines to v cutters to hole punches...I find in order to get as much resistance..a tiny nibble of a bite works best..the smoke almost comes through by osmosis...too much opening and the flavor is gone...for me...try it.. BTW, thats an XKE knock off..
That's the average ring gauge for me... I think the smallest ring gauge in my collection is 50 and the biggest 56... I love the feel of wide cigars...
I know it's a matter of personal preference but I prefer the flavor of smaller RG. 6x 46 is a perfect size to me
I really hope I'm not the only one who has smoked this bad boy! Suggested first probably a year ago still great! Also snow is finally gone Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, haven't tried that one but the snow is gone and spent my first afternoon outside on a terrasse and enjoyed a Cohiba Piramides and an RJ wide Churchill in good company ...
after a nice day at the long beach grand prix yesterday, a few of us got together for a cigar and a beer at Bo's cigar lounge in long beach. good times.
