From my searching it seems F40/F50 and F355. Correct or incorrect? :)

Also other than a bunch of the BMW M cars, anything else notable with ITB's?

Only the 355. F40 was turbocharged through 2 TB's like the 288 GTO and the 348, and then every Ferrari afterward. F50 used 2 central TB's like the 550.

Nope, only the 355 had ITB. It's one of the things that makes this car special, IMO. Now, the 90's race cars are another thing. The 348 LM had ITB's too. Not sure about other 348 race cars, but I think anything Michelotto touched had them.

Independant Throttle Bodies. Those things of beauty on top of the engine often with velocity stacks on top of them

So the 360 did not? Interesting, i assumed that would carry over but i guess they didnt need itbs (or want the cost perhaps)

I am only aware of the F50 and 355 as the only models with the glorious race technology ITBs with EFI  ...... but there may be other older rare examples ..... I think would consider the weber carbed models a form of ITBs .... :)

The F355 ITB's are awesome but also come with a little more fine tuning. There is a specific sequence tech's go through to balance them after a engine service. If they are slightly off they can contribute to jerky on/off throttle response. They are so worth the trouble though. Glorious as any racing engine can be. Surely the ITB's are a draw to enthusiasts as these cars get older and it power numbers are not as important as driving and ownership experience.

Cost for sure, I would also think ease of assembly for the factory as well. Much less to set-up and fiddle with.

You could argue that the carbureted cars had ITBs. Just not injected. But still, one barrel and one butterfly per cylinder.

Some of them yes, and agreed that it's a similar layout.

Thanks for the question, Peter. I would put serious money on a bet that less than 50% of us could even guess the meaning of ITB.

Checked on the F40. It was equipped with ITB. So was the F50.

I don't know much about F40/50's, but never heard of a notchy throttle problem on those cars like we have on the F355, some of which is attributed to the 8 ITB's. Anybody here driven a sorted F40 or F50?

    250GT SWB 6 carb, 250GTO, GTB 6 carb, Daytona, 365GT/4, 206, 246, 308 carb'ed, 365BB ... very common with Ferrari's, Alfa Romeo's, Maserati's and some FIAT's and Lancia's thanks to Webers.

If you are a fiddler, don't touch the carbs!!!!!!
