    Hello everyone.
I have not written, but work on my Mondial continues.
I need to buy pistons and I thinking about high compression
What do you think about high Compression Piston?
    From superformance for example:
Engine (General) Parts for Ferrari Mondial - Superformance

    Who knows something about it?
    - how much compression
    - сompatibility with standard ignition system

I'm anxious to read the answers as I'm also thinking about this for my 308. I once asked Newman what he thought about it and he said he would do it as it get better toque and that's what you want.

The more you work on a engine, the more you have to work on a engine.

The 8 cyl motors really respond well to more compression. I have built a lot of 2v 308s at 10:1 or so. My own 328 has 10.7:1 with Wiseco pistons and has zero problems on US pump gas.

I have high compression cylinders in my Mondial. 10:1 I think. I've also got ported/polished heads and I'm running weber carbs. If you've got the $$ to do it I highly recommend it. Gobs of torque. I'm also running a steel exhaust that gives a very V12 sound instead of the usual V8 tone. It's an homage to the vintage cars.

Interesting on the 10.7:1. Any ignition or fuel enrichment modification needed to run with those pistons?

Nope. Running the advanced setting on the Microplex and so lean it is borderline passing California smog measured precat.

Oh yea, it is bored and stroked to 3.5L

I am also worried about the ignition system, because there(Mondial 8) is no knock sensor

Well that's good to know. Thanks!

using a 360 crank? it must scoot now to a point were you might be thinking of longer euro gearbox ratios unless the 328s are the same for all markets.

No, we offset ground the 328 crank and made it fit Honda racing bearings with Crower rods.

    It makes really good torque.

Tthe crank must be strong and stout enough allowing you to do that. Any idea how much much more power it producing over the standard motor?
