No sticker on the steering damper of Miura #3057 - seeing the picture, its damper has obviously been replaced during the car's life and is now the later / aftermarket / universal Stabilus part.

But coming back on this famous sticker - and I wonder if anybody on this Group has ever read its "warning" text ?
it puts a warning concerning the correct mounting position : with a lower side and an upper side...
Very strange and typically of no use at all on an horizontal layout like on the Miura...
I suppose that's why this sticker quickly disappeared on the steering damper of the Miura...

Interesting Bruno, so not only are these stickers non-existent on many Miuras right from the onset, but the instructions contained therein are redundant. I never knew that.

Dean A's long-term Miura, probably driven more miles by him than any other Miura in America.

Its the P400 that he kindly lent us for the 2000 article I put together featuring P400 (bottom right), P400S, SV & SVJ.

Can't believe that was 15 years ago, seems like yesterday!

Here's a link to his bringing it out for a recent event in LA. Kind of fitting that two long term owners were there Jack Riddell and Dean Aberman. Jack's car has just a few more miles on it though ... :D

Lot #405 1989 LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH ANNIVERSARY EDITION
    VIN: ZA9CA05A4KLA12711
    Black/black
    2,200 original miles (3,545 km)

Was a no sale/did not meet reserve in Palm Beach Saturday at $368,500 ($335,000 + 10% premium)

For sale at auction: Lot #405 - One of 650 Anniversary Edition cars produced, with its mileage confirmed by CARFAX, this car has just 2,200 original miles (3,545 km). An icon of automotive design, the Lamborghini Countach rewrote the rules by which supercars are measured. This Anniversary Edition has been meticulously maintained. As per the CARFAX, on 10/05/2007 the car was involved in an accident involving left front impact with another vehicle and the car was functional. The front end damage was expertly repaired and in late 2013 with just 2,151 miles, and engine out service was performed; the clutch was replaced and the fuel injection was serviced. The car has been recently detailed and is ready to use. Over 200 hours were spent on the exterior and interior detailing alone. No expense was spared on this low mileage, original car. It is a very fine example, complete with owner's manual and tools.

Why the hell would someone replace a clutch with only 2151 miles!
Sounds like BS to me, there are many much more important things to be replaced than the clutch, thinking of all fluids, check compression etc. Also what exactly was replaced of the clutch, the flywheel, friction disc or pressure plate?

    Hi everyone --

I'm curious as to what the thoughts are why this 2008 LP640 only sold for $142,000? Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe 2 Door | eBay The seller's explanation is that the bulk of the mileage (34,869) was done between New York and Miami on the highway by the previous owner.

I came up with some possible explanations:

    1. Dealing on eBay is questionable at best, and bidders were doing so sight-unseen.
    2. The Murci is "caught in the middle" between the collectible Countach/Diablo era, and the common and newer Gallardos, Aventadors, and now the Huaracan. Those in this price range who just want a Lambo and aren't interested in either collecting or the Murci V12 in particular can opt for a newer car to get their fix, without the repairs of an older model?
    3. Another possibility I haven't thought of?

I would have expected this car to sell for somewhere in the range of $170,000 to $190,000. It seems inconceivable that this car would've missed the attention of higher bidders.

    Thanks for your input!

    -Bruce

I frequently see LP640s with multiple owners, but missed the accident report. Thanks for catching that.

No, didn't buy it, or even bid on it. I'm not sure I could do eBay for something like this. I like to talk to folks face-to-face, and shake hands. Guess I'm old school!

Actually 2 accidents, 1 in 2010 and another in 2012. One of them shows on Auto Check only. The seller intentionally did not list the VIN of the car in the required field on the eBay listing page, instead he put the VIN in his description so the Auto Check would not automatically post the accident on his listing. This is a violation of eBay listing policies and also very deceitful. Good luck to the buyer !!!

    Sure, quite simple...

No fee's to enter and right in my back yard, so no fee's for shipping.

So why not...who knows, I may have a moment of weakness and except a high bid..

I am not complete yet, still have approx another 3-5 Lambo cars to enter in the auction..

I guess we will see what ends up happening.
