Mercedes brake problem was due to over heating.

Toto has just told BBC that because of the brake heat, both cars went to a safety default setting that gave the drivers conventional braking only.

Another couple of laps and Kimi would have won!

    Great race.
Ferrari takes it another notch up. Both drivers can contest and the car, if not quite as quick as the MB, can force MB's hand.

    +1

"Great" may be a little "optimistic", but I suspect the TFHB will be along soon to tell us how boring it all is, how they fell asleep, & how F1 is dead as per usual. ;)

At least Ferrari seem to be right there. If they can keep developing the Mercs won't totally dominate as many here claimed.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

Christian Horner has stated on the BBC that it could take at least 6 months before they can sort their engine problems out due to long lead times on manufacturing them!

I think Christian Horner was hinting the same thing without actually saying it!

Did you know: The stones used for the tarmac in Bahrain came from a quarry in Shropshire, England!

In the words of Michael Caine: "Not a lot of people know that!"

Love that both Ferrari drivers can bring the battle to MB! Love that kimi and Nico isn't out of the fight just yet! I am starting to redevelop an interest in F1 that was lost after years of seeing one team dominate! Love to see RB and Williams jump into the fight but suspect they won't!

Ferrari are right in this. Big engine upgrade coming which will add at least 20bhp. They need that. The Mercs are definitely running at their limit, so it's all to play for this season as long as the Scud can keep the developments coming...

As for Renaults engine issues - I don't think I've been less bothered about anything else. Thus year is all about Ferrari vs Merc. The rest are just mobile advertising hoardings that need to stay out of the way.

    Kimi is not impressed!

He's disappointed at only getting second today and feels anything less than winning is not really worth celebrating!

He did say though that the team are working well and working hard to catch up with Mercedes even more and that it wont be too much longer before they're on an equal pace.
