Kimi was awesome. Jackie looks great. Seb had a respectable finish despite a few costly mistakes. His post race interview showed what a class act he is. he took 100% responsibility for what happened. Should be a fun year in F1.

So it's your thought that he should race for free? (I know Lotus thought that of him but he seemed to think he deserved paying for his services!).

All he is asking for is what he believes he is worth. If Ferrari feel he his worth the money then they will pay him it. If they don't think he's worth it then they wont.

If it's the latter, I seriously doubt that Kimi will lose any sleep over it!

Kimi is alleged to be worth in excess of $120 Million - I doubt he's going to start worrying about paying the bills if he doesn't get a contract with Ferrari next season!

He's walked away from F1 once already and he knows there's a life beyond F1.

You may also think what you like about the subject, but I for one seriously doubt that Kimi gives a rats rectum about it all at the end of day.

Kimi enjoys racing, and he enjoys winning even more, but he also knows that F1 is not the be-all and end all of life!

Answer: nothing...everything is as good as new. ;)

Isn't it fun? I love this season! Every race is a new experience and all fantastic. Seb had those two errors today which cost him a position or two, but I agree it could be worse. I am sure he will be back on it next race. Kimi was magnificent! It was time for him to shine and he grabbed the reigns and guided our beautiful car to a fabulous P2. I thought he might just overtake Hamilton but there was not enough race. Overall I am very happy with our season so far. Keep working hard Ferrari!

It was a great race. Great strategy by Ferrari, should have had 2 drivers on the podium. Nico was busting his butt, really pressing his luck with some great passes. 1 lapse by Vettel was critical.

What really needs to be applauded is the performance Kimi put in on the medium tires, during his second stint. Pirelli said that the prime tire was 1.5-2 sec a lap slower than the option, yet Kimi was able to match or beat the option...FANTASTIC! That was not luck, that was skill. Given the right tools, he can still put the car on the edge and keep it there.

Hmmm, watched this race in full and IMO Vettel was found wanting. He should have been able to pass Bottas, and trying the same thing lap after lap when it does not work shows a lack of race craft. He never once tried to brake early and sling shot out of the corner gaining more speed on the next straight. Instead lap after lap be just braked as deep as he could and compromised his exit speed. Yes following close compromises grip but not impressed with the lack of "ideas".

Good drive by Kimi, could have won the race if Ferrari had pitted him earlier but then again if Mercs did not have brake issues ...

Right. Kimi did a great job of pushing until the end, but it wasn't so much that the strategy was brilliant (I thought he should have come in earlier too), but more that the Mercs hit the backmarkers and killed their brakes in the process. Of course, Ferrari can also be credited there as their race pace necessitated a Merc change in strategy that put the brakes at risk.

Just finished. Another lights out performance by lewis and well done kimi.

Loving the ferrari resurgence we just need a little more. Our two drivers can do it.

First of all, i think Seb just had a bad day at the office. I think he wasn't smooth, he keeps ****king up his braking points and looked rather nervous.

Kimster on the other hand, looked smooth and composed. Btw, is that his wife?

His whole interview on the podium was done in one sentence! And he didn't seem too excited on the radio to the pits after he finished second. Typical Kimi!

Agree. Seb had a bad day at the races. Glad Kimi finally had a chance to shine.

Yes, the girl is his girlfriend + mother of his kid.

The radio was hilarious...everyone congratulating him in proper Italian flamboyance and he just mumbles ''yeah. Thanks everyone''. :D

    Interesting.
All the teams run below potential to save tires and fuel. In that their brakes were toast at the end can we really say that MB was sandbagging?

Brake-wise possibly not but maybe on the power side a touch. Their system was weak in brake heavy places last year as well.

    From day one.

While you want to win at the slowest speed possible and have your car last just until the flag I think that MB isn't happy with their car.
