Your offer seems genuine and a nice gesture, the response of said poster speaks volumes about that poster.
I don't have a prob with the poster, if you cut away the Fanboy stuff, he raises some interesting points at times, certainly gives food for thought. Just feel it would be nice if he could experience the cars he is so clearly found of 1st hand, I know I would. At the end of the day I feel that we are all singing from the same sheet on here.
Good to know that some on this forum like your good self are interested in discourse rather than dispute and for sharing your experience of your car.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fnTZKvX5jg P1 might lose by a fraction of a second but everyone says it's an incredibly exciting car to drive.
I have not driven a P1 but did do the test drive of the 918 and it is wicked yet feels controllable. I expect a lot of P1's will be having "incidents"
Actually it's like nothing I've drivin/owned so far when it comes to being a true driver car. The 918 Imho not lacking any excitement either (mine will be deliverd soon) it's just a different kind of excitement and it delivers a different driving experience which I loved. Mbn
Hi M, Looking to your views on the 918, in particular in relation to the customer cars we drove...From a fun the drive, interaction point the 918 customer cars are on a different planet to the P1........ http://www.evo.co.uk/mclaren/15780/watch-mclaren-f1-vs-mclaren-p1 Watch this above from 11mins in, Turbo lag, that's what wrong with the P1 for me............
speed tests on a slight downhill? lol come on ferrari. man up and let a third party test the car on level ground.
I dont understand this continued rubbish testing from Ferrari, surely they can see that all they are achieving is to cast serious doubt about the real performance of the car
Really ?? hope he doesn't regret it; did somebody already tell him that the engine bay of the P1 doesn't contain any gold like the F1 did ;-) I heard hat Rosberg was interested too, but when he heard the name of McLarens latest hypercar he passed and declared to wait till McLaren comes up wih a P2 ;-) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cant wait for my 918 WP, waiting is really the hardest part but I'm glad I got one of the last spots. To me 99% of my drivings are on public roads so I really didn't feel much turbo lag if any, I believe lag is way overrated, on track too it's just so egile and throttle response is amazing, im truly with Chris when he said you just throw it around the corners and I remember i mentioned this to Woking before CH review. I see the car as a whole package and imho its so good that sometimes I regret not getting another P1 (I know its nonsense to some) but it's just how the P1 is so good and I personally love the car it just a lot of fun to drive and so enjoyable on roads and tracks. I also loved the way Woking treated me, I was honored to meet the ladies and gentlemens there and really enjoyed their company and we bonded very well to a point some are very close to me now and no they not trying to sell me anything. They just good people. I believe the LaFerrari is as enjoyable as the P1 and the 918 but what good about them they all deliver different driving experiance and enjoyment. To say one car is better or to go into debeat with some is usless we all bought what we loved so as long as buyers enjoy the cars it's not my job or agenda to try and convince them my choices are better, Trust me I feel happy for them because they enjoy their cars. IMO trying to bring car Y because I like or own car Z is not something I do or will ever do, it's just an unsecure behaviour. sadly on Internet people fight or insult or argue and I'm thankful n all my internet years I never Insulted one single person because of his/her views simply because Im the same guy online as im in real life. Enjoy whatever you like and drive safe we all car enthusiasts. Mbn
In 2003 the Enzo's tested also @ fiorano, and comments were the same "Ferrari dirty tricks, media manipulations, downhill gives tons of seconds" etc... In the very same time R&t tested (...on flat) a stock Enzo, and performances were the same
Thanks for Response.... Fully agree they are both great cars......but my point being the throttle response on the 918 will blow you away...... Fully agree with you on Woking, they are true gents ... R A
from MT "We start by watching a few techs jack the car up onto scales. After verifying a full tank, we huddle around the readout, which shows 3,495 pounds (1,588 Kgs) split 39 percent front and 61 percent rear. An engineer says the pile of data loggers Ferrari installed in the footwell adds roughly 10 pounds. We didn't have time to remove the equipment, so we didn't subtract its claimed weight. This LaFerrari weighs 84 pounds more than the McLaren P1" #treynor wrote "less than 1,600 Kgs with lift system and hifi"
even so, it's heavy. it'd better, smaller, much more lighter and faster with V12 4.5l TT and no-kers.
In Rosberg's case, surely it should be a P3. Drive an F40 and then ask whether the P1 really has turbo lag.
