Probably can say that about any magazine. I take bits and pieces from all of them, drive what I like, then make MY decision. In this case I did just that.

Buddy has Speciale--and it's amazing of course! But I needed something more 'quasi daily' friendly--that car is certainly not that. But at a track I'm sure it's fun (he has not tracked it, so he couldn't tell me). 95% of the time it sits in his garage, which is exactly what I didn't want.

Let's be honest--any of these would be great cars to have, just comes down to preferences, needs, desires and tastes.

Completely agree. Post a pic of the lambo! Have you had any issues since you have it?

Car has 600 miles in one week (I cannot stop driving it). My GT3 had 900 in 4 months.

Huracan is rock solid. Was 90 degrees this past weekend, AC kept interior ice cold and ran the car hard, not a beat was skipped--love it!

Dual clutch is just amazing and the exhaust note...well, it's sublime.

Here is a post of pics from Lambo section, but happy to take any other ones if you have any requests. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-com-sponsored-cats-exotics/483797-%2A%2A-huracan-owner-pic-thread-%2A%2A.html

It looks awesome! Congrats. Very similar spec to the one that I have driven.

Best thing about Lamborghini is they build TONS of cars and they depreciate like crazy.

I bought a brand new 2012 Gallardo (MSRP of 210) for 180. Sold it a year later for 165 with 1800 miles on the clock to get my new Italia. I hated the Gallardo but I hear the Huracan is much improved. If you don't want a turbo 488, get a late model Italia. Speciale is even better if you are going to track but likely worse for a daily driver IMO.

This thread is a little suspicious. You don't care about money and depreciation but are asking about maintenance costs? Is this for real?

It may be a little suspicious, yes, But I have a lot of friends in the same age as me (24) that come from similar regions and they get a set amount of $ from parents for a car (reason for no depreciation worry) and then have to pay for maintenance and insurance themselves. Op mentioned he is a student.

    $15k loss in a year--that's cheap!

And depreciation on 458 is what exactly?

Just saw a 2014 458 $295 sticker with 1000 miles list for $250k...that's a hell of a kick in the pants.

And FYI Lambo made like 2200 cars last year, Ferrari made what 7000 total? Hmmm...LOTS!

drive them all if you already like the appearance of them

i never liked McLarens so i cannot speak to them
my first supercar was Gallardo, looked great, but after getting the California then 458 it was well below those vehicles... never driven Huracan so i cannot comment on the new generation lambo but the old ones were no competition to the Ferrari brand

    Here are the facts:

A total 14,022 units of Lamborghini Gallardo had been built during its 10-year product cycle. In fact almost half of all the vehicles it has manufactured since its inception in 1963 have been Gallardos!
165K from a 210MSRP is 21% one year depreciation before the hurrican was even announced (can't figure in the deal I got off new which BTW is unheard of in Ferrari world for most new allocations)
Typical Ferrari depreciation is 10%/year. Having owned several exotics I'm pretty well versed. Im sure there are others here that can speak with more experience than mine, but really who cares, the OP, stated he didn't care about $ depreciation

Facts on ANNUAL production numbers are as I stated. I know a little about exotics too my friend.

Most 458 owners I know have lost 20%+ year one, so we can debate this until the cows come home.

Look at 458 secondary TODAY--not so good if you ask me. Also, 458 is OLD model now, Huracan is NEW model.

Like I said before--both good cars. Period.

If it will see both daily driving and track time, it's a no-brainer. The GT3 is the best choice. I have a GT3 and Speciale. The GT3 gets used during the week, and the Speciale gets used on the weekends. I would start falling out of love with the Speciale if I drove it daily.

Can't speak to your Speciale, but just traded my GT3 (15) and it's NOT a daily car at all.

IT HATES being driven in traffic/slow speeds.

And the brake squealing is SO annoying (known issue because racing brakes) on streets.

GT3 is not an exotic--OP is clearly looking for exotic.

    A) we aren't friends (just trying to be nice--but you have no interest) and B) more than you most likely, but it doesn't change the facts I laid out.

But since that is your measure of things, I have a feeling it won't matter.

However, I buy on average 3 cars a year (high end/exotic)...more than most trust me. I'm always buying the latest car. I don't buy one car a year. Are you wanting to arm wrestle next?

You obviously are a Lambo hater--no worries (but sad).

I on the other hand respect Ferrari, but by the market today it's obvious 458's are not holding their value.

OP is probably not interested in one sided rants. He asked opinions and being a Huracan owner I answered (he didn't ask about Gallardo).

I'm not certain any of these three could really be considered a DD. The 458 Italia that I drove for 9,300 miles wasn't and all three of these have higher performance. I love the "event" feel of the Speciale but to me the true test is that you drive all three and get the one that speaks to you. Happy driving and how could you go wrong with any of the three choices.

Wow. You've spent 7,500,000 on cars in the last ten years ( Given the average new price of the exotic sports car is 250k with 3/year for 10 years). I agree you are an expert! I'm a little surprised with that pedigree you'd be so excited about the entry level Lamborghini but it must really be awesome. Thanks for the input - I definately need to drive one and give the brand another shot. Let me know when you get your LaFerrari allocation. I'd love to see it.

They build tons of cars since when? Ferrari builds more than twice the amount of cars.

I think the 650S would be both a better street car and a better track car than the other two.

Lamborghini has two mainstream models effectively (huracan and aventador) and Ferrari has 4 (Cali, 458, FF, and F12) so are you comparing apples to apples?

Hmmm, just a few threads ago you were complaining about 10 year production, now you are referring to only the two new models.

You have to take a stand on one side or the other...sounds like the govt.

This thread is not about production...OP asked about three cars. YOU brought up production numbers while trying to make some vague point.

Let's keep it real simple for old RCorsa--vote for one (OP doesn't care about anything else):

    1) Ferrari 458 Speciale (have a feeling this is your vote)
    2) Lambo Huracan
    3) McLaren 650S
