Get the popcorn out, this may get good!
I know this car very well, I actually had this car under contract and after very careful inspection and PPI decided that it was not for me do to previous accident damage, engine had been out, and also possible frame damage. Pretty car, wish it would have worked out.
Car fax is an interesting consumer tool. When I went to trade my truck in this winter, the dealer told me they could give me more for my trade if my truck hadn't been in an accident. Well, the accident the car fax was referring did not do any damage to my truck. I had let someone borrow my truck, and one of the trash cans they were hauling in the back came out and the car following my friend in my truck hit the trash can causing minor damage to their car. They filed a police report and car fax had that my truck was in an accident. I do think car fax is a good tool to use when buying a used car, but it's not fool proof by any means.
Hmm. Interesting quotesfrom the TrueFrame Report you posted: "TrueFrame guarantee does not apply to this vehicle due to unpublished measurements and / or manufacturing process(s). Vehicle does measure square at measured points." In other words a TrueFrame report is about as worthless as the paper it is printed on. I think I would steer clear of this car based on the feedback from the FChat users who know this car.
CarFax is crap. I sold a car that was borderline totaled under an insurance claim & police report, yet the CarFax never showed a single claim or repair.
hmmm? Transparency in initial listing?? Just wondering how everyone's confidence is in the OP as a seller at this point?
Transparency? I am the one that posted the carfax and trueframe report. Not hiding anything but I see where this is going. The car is going straight to F1 imports here in Naples, FL when it arrives and I will gladly publish the report, regardless of the outcome. Its a White on White 2008 F430 with 6 speed manual. That is manual as in 3 pedals
Seems much speculation about the car, little confirmed about the supposed 'damage'. So far, the main damage has been to RiteDrive who was at least trying to disclose, be up front, remain curious but optimistic about the 'word' on this car for sale. I'm sorry, but if someone is seriously interested in the car, then go nuts with the inspection. If it turns out negatively (as it appears to have by one prospect, provided this is the same car) then reporting here is indeed an education. If it turns out positively, then I/we hope you've scored a jewel. Maybe I've had too much coffee this morning, but it seems that RiteDrive is trying to shake some previous episodes and yet the 'guilty until' shadow prevails.
*Link removed* Yes this was the last 3 pedal car that created the drama. Actually I created it because I advertised as a personal car. Thousands joined in a serious A.. whooping which I respectfully healed from. In the end, I sold the car for 144,900 to someone that was serious about buying a 6 speed manual and not about making me pay for the statement. Its about how fast you get back up after falling, I'm still here And will never advertise a car as a personal car again.
Said like a true "car salesman". Seriously how can you say that with any semblance of credibility? In case you didn't know (obviously you don't or you would not have stated such) you would be very hard pressed to find many Ferraris actively for sale in North America with the "average' 15,000 miles per year...let alone anything remotely close to it.
That is not actually his fault - he copied and pasted the entire CarFax report, and that is a standard thing they list for any make/model with mileage below that number.
This. Man, does this guy have a huge target on his back I am not seeing? I do not see anywhere in this thread where OP is being dishonest or not being upfront.
Copied from Carfax!! I know better than to embellish anything on this forum. I just copied and pasted the carfax and they use that term for some reason. Carfax is Carfax and its a guide. Big hugs to all that want to trash my car and make snippy comments. Its a White on White 2008 Ferrari 430 Spider with 3 pedals and its on the way to Florida. If interested PM me, if not you could always join in on the dagger throwing. cheers
