No real news as just waiting for an Evo date and now the weather seems to have broken, mid May and possibly Silverstone is looking a possibility. Needless to say the delay has been expensive as it gave me time for the dream of slicks to turn into reality and after the traditional struggle a spare set of rims have arrived from Michelotto together with a pile of slicks.

Excited to see this thing tearing up the track, even more excited now to see what it will be able to do with a proper set of slicks!

    Keep us updated! :)

Whilst still waiting, we couldn't help tidy up one unsatisfactory detail

This was the unsatisfactory and slightly rushed initial solution for the front splitter support.

It had been nagging us and it was the only criticism Cristiano had, so it had to change and as always Mototechnique have done a perfect and tricky modification.

Although there is a slim chance that there will be any books remaining, I'd be interested in both volumes of your book.

The vehicle is spectacular, and its been a real joy to read and view this restoration.

Funnily enough John Pogson does have a small connection with this car. I tried to buy it prior to Tim but the previous owner refused to allow John to road test the car for me. On Johns advice we walked away. Which is very fortunate all round, not least because I would certainly now be divorced but because it clearly ended up with the right person to bring it up to a condition and spec that, IMO, is far better than when it left the factory or has ever been since.

I found this thread by accident and 2 years later (realtime past 2 days!) out here in Afganistan this thread has been one of the best ever.
I annoy the other people in the office with my Youtube clips of Aston Martin Vantages (i have a 4.7 V8) but now they have been replaced with yours Tim.
Im back from Afghanistan for a short while in June, are you taking yours to Wilton on the 7th? Love to see it in person after reading all about it.

Nothing much on the video side apart from our first Dyno run we posted on youtube and still waiting to get Evo, Silverstone, Mototechnique, Dickie Meaden and myself a mutually agreeable date, and then I will have some vid, assuming everything works out. Not really driving the car myself until that day is past so as to ensure everything is 100% correct should we get the call at short notice.

I still check this thread every single day (or as much as possible given other commitments) awaiting the videos and more photos. Here's to hoping it's sometime soon!

Hope everything with the car is going well :) Must be damn hard not to drive/flog it at this point...

    Dear Traveller,

I hope you are still collecting names for your books. I'd be interested in both volumes..

Thank you so much for your work.

For those following, we finally have a date for the Evo test. Video and stills at Anglesea which should be interesting to see how the ultimate in analogue compares with the ultimate in digital as they have run P1, LF and 918 here.
