Are they wave washers or Belleville Washers.

either way, I think Metric Multistandard Components Corp. might get the job done. Although McMaster-carr is great as well.

ACE hardware where I got mine! Cheep and readily available.

 

I just dropped my pan and the washers were neither wave nor Bellville - just plain flat steel washers about 1mm thick. They look fine, so I'm going to reuse them, but I am replacing the nuts with stainless steel nylocks from Mr Metric (Mountz Torque Tools | The Torque Tool Specialists) Part # M50353.

The camshaft cap studs/nuts are also M6x1 and call for 6.5 foot-pounds, but do use Bellville washers. So for the pan I'm going with a new gasket, a very thin coat of Hylomar, flat washers and the nylocks at 6 foot pounds.

If you are going to drop the pan don't forget to remove the oil temp sensor and the dipstick guide tube. Tough to do with the engine in the car, but otherwise you'll never get the oil pan out. And if you don't replace that 30+ year old gasket you'll never cure any leaks.

 

It really doesn't matter. Ferrari used both wave and Belleville washers and I have seen flat used many times.

None had anything to do with leaks or lack thereof.

Use whatever pleases you.

 

Stat-o-seal washers worked better for me. McMaster Carr has them.

 

I used the same along with SS Nylok nuts. Same on the cam covers. Worked great.
